Coming back to the main menu, we have other functions that Pocket Verifier can perform. They all start from this main menu. We will look next at E-Checks.
The E-Check screen looks very similar to the Credit Card processing screen, except that you must enter all the information from the check manually. Also note that while you can process the transaction remotely, the E-Check process does require a check clearing time so there is still the same risk involved as if you used a paper check.
Another function of Pocket Verifier is the Transaction Manager. If you were at a multi-day event and a customer came back and wanted to do a return, you can use the Transaction Manager to find the transaction and issue a refund credit. You can also do this by logging into your account on the web. I usually prune the transactions from Pocket Verifier a week after an event.
The last area we will look at is the Setup screen. This is where you control all the settings for Pocket Verifier. You can input sales tax here to have it automatically apply it to each transaction. I work out of NY and the tax rate is different in each county, so this is very handy. You can also select which type of printer/swiper you have, and which connection you want Pocket Verifier to use. I also have it save the signatures on the server so that you have proof of signature without having them sign a paper receipt. There are additional Settings available from the Settings menu. We will look last at the receipt setup screen.
On the receipt setup screen, you can manually configure exactly how you want your receipts header and footer to look. I have our address and phone number on the header, and simply "Thank You" on the footer. You could tailor this for an event to add a personal touch.
