I picked up the new Innodock from Siedio to add to my collection of PPC-6700 gadgets.

At $40 it's pretty cheap considering you get the cradle, a travel charger, USB cables and the ability to "charge faster".

Like many of you I like to have my phone docked and charging when possible, and then I can just grab it and go. I have the Siedio kit in my car already, so I have charging there, but I wanted to have a "home" setup. I can get home, plug in my phone, know it's charging, continue listening to streaming radio etc. Plus I can leave my OEM cradle at work, or bedside.




My first impression was that the connectors (USB mini, 2.5mm audio) stuck up way too far, and would make the phone unstable. But, as soon as you put the phone on the dock the mount swings back into position, holding the phone at a good viewing angle, and the back of the phone lays flush against the dock, so my worries were unfounded. The theory behind the extended connector is it allows you to connect the phone while leaving the case on, and it does that. It should also work fine with an extended battery.



It felt heavier than any internal components could be, to find out of they added wieght to help it sit on the desktop better I sacrificed the four felt feet. As you can see, not a whole lot going on inside. A clever little spring/pivot setup, USB connectors and an audio patch. Also the LED power, if for some reason the light bugged you you could snip it off there. What is in evidence is a slab of metal to add wieght, you could remove it if you were concerned about ounces, or add more if you wanted to one-hand your phone out.



It comes with various connectors to allow you to power/sysnc a couple different ways. Their description does a better job of describing it than I can:

If you think that your USB port alone isn't charging your 6700 as fast as you'd like, there's now something you can do about it! With the included AC Power Kit, there's a DC in jack and a travel adaptor so that when it's connected to the INNO.DOCK, you can charge your 6700 from any wall outlet. Also, it has another USB at the end so that you can plug the same A to A USB Cable into your computer port and sync your 6700. This means that if your computer is turned off or in sleep mode, you will still be able to charge your 6700 with your INNO.Dock

Basically I stuck with the USB cable from my computer, I dont need it to charge any faster, but it's nice to know you can, especially if you have an extended battery.

The holder is small enough and light enough to travel with, it's well made, no sharp points, or pieces that will break off in luggage.

I played MP3s thought the audio output, and into my Dell speaker system, no surprise, sounded great. The convenience of having streaming music and onboard MP3s at hand simply buy docking the phone shouldn't be underestimated.

Changes: I suppose they could add a stylus holder, but I like to keep my stylus with the phone, and it's easy to access anyway. It would be ideal if they could have the dock match the silver on the phone, for those of us that like form as much as function.

Why I recommend it: Audio output, for me that's the main feature of the cradle. Yes I like the looks, , the swivel, and the price, but it's that added functionality over the normal cradle that does it for me.
