I've seen the same thing it's not just you. Somehow Verizon seems to be able to tell if doing the tethering via bluetooth, but not via USB.

Weird - I use PDAnet through either USB or Bluetooth and it works just fine. I have never seen the web page you describe.

I'm not sure about the other poster, but I'm not using PDANet but the ModemLink application.

So is B-Dun working with the hack or not? I was getting the VZW page error but re-installed PDANet and now it's working. I didn't want to try the B-Dun since thats what I was trying to get working when the errors started. I have'nt tried the hack at all.

Great instructions...VZW page still coming up

I tried both BT and USB. Both options gave me the Verizon page inviting me to sign up for $15/month plan. Is this free option still working for anyone?
Is PDANet now the cheapest option?

Even if you get this to work - seems not common - wmwifirouter is still the best option in my mind. Streamlined setup, more options, and easy interface make this app worth the cash by far. Don't get me wrong - free is the way to be, but there are some times that the fee is head and shoulders above the free. This is one of those times.

USB DUN works BT DUN still prompts for VZW $15/mo plan

Alright,

I've installed the bt cab and the registry fixes I find myself able to connect to the BT DUN but it prompts me for the $15 plan, however if i use the USB DUN I am able to connect just fine and work just fine.

I'm not sure If I'm possibly missing a step somewhere or if I am just doing something wrong?

I'm on WM 6.1 Professional

CE OS 5.2.19212 (Build 19212.1.0.3)

I have been using the free USB DUN exclusively, free BT DUN has been intercepted by Verizon for months now.

Thumbs up Little info update!

This little tether trick works great. But I do have some new verizon info.

To get mine to work correctly I had to use my user name as your phone number @vzw3g.com or "xxxxxxxxxx@vzw3g.com" and password is still the same at "vzw".
Hope that helps someone else out there!

This is what werks

Do this with a reg editor:

Hack Internet Sharing to work:
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing
Delete Extension key,
set/create MaxCMCon=0 (decimal).

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\settings
Delete ForceCellConnection
[Now, if you have unlimited data and in the internet sharing program select sprint (not PAM) then you can tether to a computer and you will not be charged any extra)

if you were like me i had to move the MaxCMCon=o file to shareing and then deleted that and forcecellconnection
