Do you think the battery goes down fast enough that it makes buying slingbox and such not worth it, as in you could only watch a show just for a little bit?

I use mine all the time I love being able to watch tv on my phone for me its perfect no slow down or anything and now with Rev A its an great picture and over 30fps, I also have 2 batteries, from a full change just a guess I would say you could watch for maybe 40mins more or less non stop. The quality all depends on the speed of the connection. Two batteries are a must if you are going to go this route of you will find yourself with almost no talk time.

Man! I know there is not really anything that can be done about it but it sounds like unless you plan on having it plugged in or use another battery it is pretty much worthless, huh?

would not say worthless, it you are wasting time someplace or do not want to miss a game or show or like me a programmer and at my desk can just pluge it up at your desk and have your tv going, you can watch it on the phone, its actualy pretty cool but you just have to keep in mine that anything you do Radio/watch a movie or just surfing its going to use up your battery... more people have more then one battery.

No, its not worthless. I can watch about 3 hours using slingbox on my Mogul before my battery dies. If you have a weak signal, it eats up the battery quicker. If you use wifi instead of EVDO to stream the slingbox signal, that can also use up your battery at a faster rate.

yep, Slingbox and the Mogul is a perfect match.. I only point out that if you are playing games and doing all these other things I would always have an extra battery. You would not find yourself with a dead phone when you really need it LOL.

Does anybody have some advice or know of a website that explains the Slingbox products simply? When I go look at them at the store there are several different versions. I mainly just want one so I can watch TV on either my xv6800 or my laptop when I am away.

If you only want to control one device, and aren't worried about streaming HD content to your computer, than the Slingbox AV is the perfect choice. It allows either a connection to a single device via S-Video or Composite. If you're just wanted to watch TV through your phone, and your laptop when you're away, for $99 you can't beat it.

Slingbox + FIOS
I am also still using the classic and getting a damn good pic.
I use it mostly to keep up with NHL and NBA games.
Absolutely saw improvements after the ROM upgrade.
