Whew, that was a worrisome couple hours until I got enough free time at work to download and install the drivers. It works great after installing the SDHC.777.cab linked to by bedoig. Now to fill this puppy up and change my signature!

the Mogul does not officially support 4GB out of the box. they only officially support 2GB cards. this site confirmed that it does handle 4GB.

smeg, can you post instructions on what you did to get the card recognized? i have my card on the way as well. where did you purchase yours from?

I got mine a day earlier than I expected. Just install the SDHC.777.cab from ppcgeeks that bedoig linked to in his first post, reboot, and you're good to go. Awesome.

Wow, that was fast shipping from Amazon with free shipping. I think they just say it'll delay your order to try and get you to pay for shipping. I ordered mine from the Buy.com link I posted so I could get the Google Checkout $10 discount. I also installed the SDHC.777.cab from PPCGeeks, it automatically rebooted after install, and the card worked. Easy really.

Wow. That driver makes a big difference, even with only the 4gb hc card. True that it "works" out of the box, but iguidance and bibles loaded tons faster after i installed this driver. Thanks a lot! Probablt will wait for the 8gb for before upgrading from the 4gb. 6 is just too small of a step when the capacity is increasing so quickly.

Good idea, Marc. My understanding is that the 6gb card will not work, at all, without the driver; so good luck with that. It would be interesting to see a bench test pre and post driver install with the 4gb. I beleive, though, that there might be a non-hc 4gb card. I could be mistaken, but the one I have is hc and was working ok. After I installed the driver, yesterday, it was amazing how much improved the programs were that used data off of the storage card (like iGuidance, e-Sword, etc). They work, but off and on and a lot slower and sketchy/unstable.

I didn't format mine at all. Just left it at the FAT32 it was when I received it. I've read, and have no idea if this applies to the HC format as well, that large storage cards (don't remember the exact cutoff point) should be FAT32.

sure...... that would be cool to see if, in fact, there is any difference. I hadn't looked at the other thread because I hadn't thought about bench testing until you brought it up. I think the biggest interest is in the fact that HTC has published a 2gb max card size and we all see that it takes the 4gb.

Didn't format mine either. I used to try different formatting with SD cards on my i730 but never noticed any difference, so I never fomat cards anymore.

hey matt,

dare i say that this site was the first to confirm that, as i was the first member here to get the card and test it on the phone.

i had called HTC a day or so before i got the card to ask on the capacity and they said only 2GB. i said OK. hung up then started looking for the 4GB. i found it at a local verizon store and the rest they say is history...

yeah ill bench the 4gb card and post those findings...

smeg, i just formatted the card to fat32 and 4K cluster size. i gained a meg on the card... its pretty amazing to see a 6 GB card in this phone the size of a piece of lint in ones pocket!... bring on the 16GB (patriot has one but ill wait for sandisk thank you... )

to smeg and jazz for the heads up on this new card.. i had no idea it was out.. i had 3GB left on the 4 but you know how it is.. gotta have the latest and greatest...
