Aluminum Case for 6800

Any thoughts on this case seen here:
For PDair Aluminum Metal Case SPRINT MOGUL PPC-6800 - (eBay item 220150896074 end time Sep-17-07 12:54:12 PDT)

Thinking of buying it b/c i want screen protection. I had a similar case for my 6700 and liked it but anytime it fell, it would protect it from the initial impact but then the phone would spill out and hit the ground.

Any comments regarding how snuggly it fits, likes/dislikes, bulk, and access to buttons as well as keyboard access while flipped open are greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I ordered this item a few days ago and will post a review after I have it for a few days (probably next week).

Actually I got the EXACT case from the EXACT seller.

So far I LOVE it, it just makes the phone about quarter inch thicker, it's very tight and snug fit. All the buttons can still be accessed with ease. The included swirl belt clip works like wonder.

It's much sturdier with this PDAir case. However it does take a bit work to open it, I need to use both of my hand to (one holding the side and another pushes the door up). Unless you use the touch screen a lot otherwise the wheel buttons and D-Pad will work like wonder.

Also the keyboard works great with this case, just open the front door and the keyboard slides open with no obstructions what so ever. Actually it felt better to hold the door up with your index fingers while typing.

There are opens for the lens, speaker, and the bottom connectors. Basically everything is easy accessed.

The signal is just as good without any case. The volume are just as loud as without the case as well.

So far I like it, the other case for my Samsung i730 served me for 2 years now and it's still good. Worth the price and protection.

Thanks for the input. The case is black, correct?

Does the case scratch the phone at all?

Yes the cast is black, there are silver ones on ebay too.

No it will not scratch the phone, there is a layer of soft padding inside the case.

I have this case and I also like it a lot. It keeps the phone well protected and doesn't add too much bulk to the phone at all. I actually wanted to do a drop test on it but haven't got up the nerve yet but I am sure I will drop it a few times after a night of drinking so I will report back with the results then lol.

LOL Actually I already dropped it from my hip onto the hard carpet floor yesterday, didn't hook up to the belt holder correctly and it felt and hit it on the corner of the case. Picked it up and it's like nothing happened. The case didn't even budge or change it's shape slightly.

Worth the protection.

Please remember to post your results at 3 AM after the night of drinking so you don't forget how it happened

Wink It's a winner!

It's more of a travel case though. I would not want this case if I were making and receiving any volume of calls because there is no access to the touch screen. True, you can use the buttons and scroll wheel--and if you are already used to that, ignore my point, but the touch screen is very well protected by this case, so it's... untouchable!

The phone fits perfectly into the case and all buttons, the scroll wheel, IR, and mini USB port are open for business with your Mogul as snug and safe as a beetle in this thing. Very nice work.

I do have one concern that has not yet become a problem but could be an issue. The belt clip comes separately and you have to install this by way of a threaded insert (like a screw). On other similar cases I have used in the past, this method included some kind of fastener that locked that bold into the threads but there is no such safeguard here. You screw it in and that's it, so there seems to be nothing to stop it from slowly unscrewing and potentially (and likely when you least suspect it), it comes fully out of the treads and your belt clip, while remaining attached to your belt, lets go of the case.

That could be an issue. If you don't plan to clip it to your belt, again ignore my incessant whining.

I dropped my Mogul a few times already (before the case). It's pretty tough. I hate those scratches though!
