I wonder if we (Sprint owners) can extract the WM6 portion of this ROM since it looks newer.

You're going to install the Alltel version on your Mogul? Cool...

Well yeah, the nbf files are signed to install only on the specific device. If we had the way around this and the installer doing certain checks we could start building custom ROM's..

Standard WM6 stuff BUT the phone only seems to work with roaming!
I am going to try flashing again.

Update #1: Data seems to work fine (EV) with roaming turned off but voice will not connect. As soon as I enable roaming, I get the little triangle, and calls go through fine. Time to call support...

Update #2: Rep had me dial *228, Option 3. This re-programmed the phone with Alltel defaults. Worked like a champ!

What glitters is gold.

Glad to help. The Alltel rep told me that I was definitely not roaming even though the indicator came on. Not sure how he could tell but he sounded pretty convincing.

WM6 seems a little more sluggish than WM5. Not sure which I like better. At least Alltel was nice enough to let you remove some the bloatware like the online shopping stuff.

If you use LiveSearch you cant use the slide out keyboard to enter texts. It defaults to symbols and cant be changed. Can you try it?

The keyboard issue is with Live Search. When using the slide out keyboard, it only types symbols or numbers (as if you had double tapped the function key).

it seems to work fine for me on my Alltel 6800... I installed it, ran it, opened the slide-out keyboard, and did a search for 'pizza'. Worked fine.

Just to be sure, I did a soft reset and repeated the above. No problems.

Did I miss anything? See the screen shots, still in landscape mode.

Youre not missing anything. Looks like the Altel wm6 works fine with LiveSearch. The issue was with new Sprint ROM update. Was just trying to see if Altel has the same issue.
