Thanks g-funkster! I updated my file manually using a hex editor, and it works great! The above tutorial has been updated with your information.

One last thing, I have the Opera mini Icon, how do we make the GMail Icon? I read that you need to compile the icon into a dll file or something, is taht right?
could you post how you changed the opera shortcut icon?

Bypassing the security prompt works great. Thanks.

Now, how can I modify an installed Java app that has a domain shorter than tckmax? My eBuddy domain=midp1.

I've tested this, seems to work fine. I've written a 'hex editor' that automatically modifies your selector.utf file. Doesn't matter how many apps you have installed, each will get fixed. Requires a computer though, sorry!

Just copy your \windows\appdb\selector.utf file into the same directory on your PC where the Fix.exe file is (within the attached zip) and run Fix.exe.

It will create a new selector.utf and backup your original as selector.bak.utf You can then overwrite your PPC's version.

If you don't trust the executable, you can always use your own hex editor to do the same thing. It's kinda big for a very small action, that's because it was written in Perl then repackaged into an exec. Source is also attached.

Edit: Verified that this does work.

Edit: I should add that I'm using the new jbed
not working on htc kaiser!

lack of preconfigured java support

i've got alltel's version of the mogul, namely htc PPC-6800 which does NOT come preconfigured with any java support. i'm trying to get opera installed on the phone but don't know the first thing about getting java supported. any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Gmail on Opera

Each time I go to Opera and try to open Gmail from within Opera, I have to re-enter my passwords.... even though I have clicked the remember me box. Is this a known issue? or is this something unusual?

Also, when I do log into Gmail manually, my times are all messed up... Like East Coast time... could this be due to the Opera Proxy server or something...

Thanks a lot for the information.

However, I still am having a problem getting the "untrusted" thing to stop on my Opera Mini browser.

I've tried doing the hex edit myself as well as using the fix.exe from g-funkster and when I push the PIE button on the Tilt I get this error:

"Could not find suite s0_"

If I revert back to the original selector.utf then when I press the PIE button it loads Opera just fine, but I have to go through the untrusted stuff again.

Any idea why this isn't working?

I can see that the s0_suite.utf file is still in the appdb directory. It's the only java app I have installed right now also.

Thanks!

I'm experimenting with making these shortcuts also. Making them works, but can someone explain how to make sure that i get the Opera Mini and Gmail Icons attached to the shortcuts?

How to trasfer the Bookmarks

Hello,
Thank you for this great work. This is my first Post on this Board, and I have two Questions.

1. How I can transfer my Bookmarks from the Tao Midlet Manager. On Tao, I copied the .rms Folder and have to insert it on the new Device. But on the JBed Midlet Manager, I can`t find the folder to transfer the Bookmarks . Can anybody help me?

2. On the Opera Mini Full screen Version, I can`t activate my Software Keyboard, because there is no Keyboard Button on the Opera Mini Frame. How I can get my Keyboard to make the Shortcuts?

Thank you....

No, it`s really impossible to watch Youtube with Opera Mini. But maybe you should try another Version of tcpmp Player with another Codecs!?
