Note on PocketCM, I had it for about 2.5 seconds then I got bored haha.
Back to the dialer... here is what I have put into action on my phone. I would love to share... should I just post a zip of all the images? or is the a way to CAB it, because i made some registry changes to hide the numbers and also to change the In-Call text colors.
Let me know what you think of the dialer. Also, I 'd be happy to take a couple request for the less graphically inclined!
I like skin you made. Gonna change mine over tonight. Great job..

Is there any way to get the keypad to always stay up after you dial a number? I dial way too many numbers to random companies that have routing systems. For ones I call on a regular basis - I have the pauses and the numbers in my phone number. But say I call the library out of the blue and they have a routing system, I hate having to press the little keypad word in the bottom corner - another option besides always keeping it up would to make the word keypad have a great big button.
Also, what does the left arrow above the call history button do - I press it, it makes a sound but doesn't seem to do anything.
Left arrow is for backspace to delete a number when you are dialing. Hold it down for a few seconds and it will delete all the numbers in case you really messed up lol.
I know for voicemail the keypad stays up, maybe someone could look into how it does it with that number and make a hack for it.

Did anyone ever port this skin? I saw it in blue, but I'd just like the black as originally posted at XDA.
Thanks,
Richard
Have you tried the instructions I posted into turning any of the dialers listed (including black) into a skin for this dialer? I knew nothing about skinning but quickly figured it out. http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/ppc-6...tml#post656300
Running a stock XV6800 w/ WM6...great phone, but I wanted a dialer that had bigger buttons and showed the contact pics larger...
I've tried a few different dialers, though I think most are based on a template built by PaulyA...
The dialers work fine. The problem is that as soon as I install them and soft reset the phone, the connection arrows light up and never extinguish. It seems to slow the phone down, too, though I have no empirical data to support that.
I'm wondering: a) why would a dialer have anything to do with keeping the connection constantly on? b) how do i fix this?
I really like the big buttoned dialers, but i don't think my battery or patience can stand a constant connection. Help!

dmcpilot,
The reason your arrows stay on is because the PaulyA dialers all come from GSM based systems. You have CDMA, the radios and how they transmit data and display its status are very different.
You are right that a skin should not effect radio transmissions, but the dialers themselves are tied via .dlls to the very function of the phone. You have to use CDMA .dlls to make the radio function correctly.
The only important change my big button dialer makes is to hard code the big buttons into the CDMA .dll that used to have the small buttons hard coded in it. The rest is just a skin that anyone can change at will. Skins should not have .dlls in them, otherwise they are changing the funtion of your phone. The layout and size of the buttons cannot be changes via registry edits, it is part of the OS itself. And for some reason the button layout is tied to how the radio operates, including things like operating in different modes when dialing 911, maintain the state of the data connection, etc. GSM radios can handle data and voice simultaneously, CDMA cannot. Therefore the data arrows are either white or grey for actively sending data or not. CDMA has many states and cannot be connected while in call.
The colors, pictures, etc. (skins)can be changed at will and have no effect on the radio.
You will get lots of memory leaks, incorrect indicators, decreased performance, drastic problems with 911, etc. if you are using GSM .dlls on a CDMA phone.
You can install my skin to install the correct .dll then put any true big button skin (no .dlls) over it.
I have only tested on Sprint (flawless on Sprint), but this .dll is CDMA and should work a heck of a lot better on any CDMA phone than the GSM versions from PauleyA or the reTouched dialer.
I've had this issue since upgrading to the 'unofficial' Rom. I have hard reset and re-installed all apps, re-downloaded the dialer program, even tried 'skinning' to see if it was just an error in the original file.
Here are some screen shots; what is seen in the background are HTC Home icons from the today screen. I've even tried swapping home screen icons in case my customized ones were cauing a conflict.

Any suggestions?
This new button screwing up the skins is a new feature that Sprint added. To turn this feature off change this regkey.
HKCU\ControlPanel\PhoneExtendFunction\CDMA
EnableVoicemailIcon <-- set this to "0"
Is there any way to update this dialer to include a dedicated button to disconnect a bluetooth headset during a phone call? Right now I have to click a menu and then click a menu item, which is a pain (especially if I am driving, which is the main reason I simply stopped using a headset).
I would love to go back to using one, but this simple issue prevents it. My Treo had a nice big fat button there when a call was in progress to disconnect the headset. If I am somewhere where I have my phone but not the headset, but the headset is close enough to connect, then I would like to be able to quickly disconnect it.
one question, tho...is there anyway to make the contact picture that comes up bigger, like maybe twice the size?
thanks again!!!
While it is possible to make the picture as big as you want, you would have to give up other screen space, and there is no free room. You would have to make the buttons smaller. This is also not easy, it would require further changes to the .dll to do this.
I installed Paul's dialer and the bigbutton theme. I also tried the black and silver theme in this thread. I've had some memory issues on my XV6800. They may not be related to the dialer and certainly not the skins, but I decided to uninstall it. After doing that, the standard buttons did not display. I only had some text, no buttons. Applying one of these themes:
