centering the numbers and text are not giving good results since the numbers don't line up anymore. What is the best number combo you guys have seen. Or is it best to just make it invisible and put our own numbers into the skin background like in the Touch skins?

in light of the recent discoveries allowing text to be hidden. I am attaching an updated touch cab. the way it is supposed to look. It only has the pngs and reg additions, so make sure you install Paul's first. let me know if you find any errors.

oops yeah forgot to say soft boot after installation.

UPDATE 9/7.
updated the progress screens with the ones paul used. see posts below.

It needed a soft-reset to get it fully working on my Mogul. Before the soft-reset, bringing up the dialer showed the old buttons. Opening the keyboard switched the display to landscape mode, showing the new buttons. Closing the keyboard switched back to portrait mode and all of the buttons were completely blank. After the soft-reset it works properly.

The new buttons look fantastic! Perfect addition to Paul's work.

Minor item... with the Touch.cab installed, the photo id in the call progress screen doesn't seem to line up. Also, the key fonts and color for the call progress screen are the same as prior to installing touch.cab.

I didn't do anything to the progress screen, only the dialer screen. In the real touch cab for GSM, there are no graphics for the progress screen. did the photo id line up for paul's?

Yes, it did line up for Paul's... I'm going to remove both and try again.

Thanks,

Well during a call to Enable Speakerphone just hold down the Green phone button and it turns it on, if you hold it down again it will turn speakerphone off.

Thanks for the addon eb3604 it's working great, and Thanks to Paul if I hadn't said it before

I am not sure what you mean by this. As I have replied earlier to this, when i call somebody or somebody call me, the screen does automatically go to the progress screen where there is a speakerphone button. The only time it doesn't do this is when i am calling my voicemail, which makes sense because you need your keypad to check and navigate voicemail. If it's not doing it for you, you must have a setting to adjust, but it shouldn't have anything to do with Paul's dialer.

as far as i can tell, this dialer doesn't break any stock functions of the phone...you guys just need to go into settings and see if you need to adjust something. with paul's dialer, i have touch tone and automatic progress screen DURING a call.
If you are talking about the ability to toggle to progress screen when NOT on a call, I don't think the default dialer do this either.

eb3604,

can you make a iPhone skin for this dialer? Not the clown fish looking thing but like the real iPhone, similar to what Nargalzius did for another dialer on xda-developers.com

or tell me where i can get the icons, like for speakerphone, mute, etc.

I wouldnt be able to do it because it would involve moving around the buttons, which I have no clue how to do. It's probably something on the DLL level. And I don't even know if it can be done. Also, theres not a way currently to have indiidual button graphics for various things, ie. the real touch dialer has individual white buttons with each number, similar to the erase and history buttons. Also I'd like to skin the progress screen, but again no individual buttons (even for the real touch dialer). Here's to hoping that when the touch gets released for Sprint, the DLLs will be better and will have more features, so that Paul when he has time can do his magic. and i will probably never post a commercial dialer because I don't feel like being sued.

How can I change the letters on the phone -- i.e. "abc" "def". Is there a registry key I'm missing?

Thanks
Mark

Dial Tones do not work with the Touch.cab.. also I noticed teh "Call Status" menu is not skinned, any possibility to fix these issues ? Other than that, looks great, functionality works.

Eb304,
I didn't mean exactly like iPhone, just similar in style and icons. I started on this but I am not good with graphics so I think you ca probably improve on it. Also, I need the icons for the progress page like speakerphone, mute, contacts, notes, talk, end, etc. but I am not good with creating icons.
