The problem is that you installed multiple values for the same registry keys. The uninstallers cannot multi stack like that. You can make the text size smaller by adjusting the registry keys that control it.

Or you can hard reset.

Hi Paul. Thanks for the reply. You mentioned in some other threads that you were going to share the registry keys. Did you post those someplace? I could not find them. What are the keys to change the digit and text size? Is there a cab out there with the stock dialer reg settings? You also mentioned that.

BTW, should your big button Mogul dialer work fine with the xv6800? If you are fairly certain that your dialer does not have leaks, then I'll stick with it. I really like the bigger buttons.

Is there a good tool available to help find which app is leaking? Do you know of a list of notorious leakers? On my today screen I now use HTC Home and SPB Diary as well as wisbar advance.

Thanks,
John

I would love to go back to using one, but this simple issue prevents it. My Treo had a nice big fat button there when a call was in progress to disconnect the headset. If I am somewhere where I have my phone but not the headset, but the headset is close enough to connect, then I would like to be able to quickly disconnect it.
Anyone have any ideas about this?

Paul,

I am interested in your registry keys also, particularly the ones controlling the color of the smartdial box, the text color of the smartdial boc, and the highlight colors of the smartdial box.

Thanks Paul. I've since returned to using your dialer, but this information is still helpful.

Sprint Rom v3.35

Just installed this dialer in the new Sprint ROM and the #1 key bitmap looks wrong - it is the small #1 key from the original dialer with some dead area to the right and below it. Anyone else seeing this? Is there a way to fix it?

Found this @ ppcgeeks

To fix: HKCU\ControlPanel\PhoneExtendFunction\CDMA, Set EnableVoicemailIcon = 0 then soft reset.

Vista Skin dialpad

Poorly Duck over at xda-dev just created a nice Vista skin for the Touch type dialers. I just posted instructions on how to make it work with this dialer from Paul for the Mogul:

Does anyone know if this dialer will help the following problem I've been having with my Touch:
If in the phone number of my contacts, I have any text following the contact number then the phone won't dial that number whereas if there isn't any text then it is fine. For example:
If the name John and Jane Smith is in my contacts and under "Mobile" I have:
"555-555-5555 John"
and under "Car" I have
"555-555-5556 Jane"
and then I try to touch or select the mobile number or car number, the Touch won't dial!
Whereas if under "Home" or "Business" I just have the number
"555-555-5557"
then it will dial just fine. (It will also dial fine in the mobile or car slot as long as I don't have text in the line.)
I know that on my AT&T Tilt (WM6 pro) I don't have this problem at all.

Will this dialer fix this issue?
(Are there any other know fixes?)
Thanks,
- Michael

what kind of Touch do you have, GSM or Sprint? this dialer is really meant for the Mogul. If you have GSM Touch, then this is definitely not for you. If you have sprint touch then this dialer is of no benefit over your default dialer.

Paul,

I can't thank you enough for this dialer. I have recommended this dialer every forum that I visit.

Have you considered releasing another version of this dialer which is based on not having the system draw the numbers and letters but having the numbers and letters already on the graphics of the background. Better yet, if you can have it where it reads individual buttons in the up and down position, that woul dbe great but don't know if that is possible.

This would make skinning easier and also easier to import skins made for the Touch layout dialers. Right now, i have to tell people to make the following changes in the registry to import skins for the Touch, to make them work:

---------------------------------------------------------------------

(hides Digits text)
HKLM/Security/Phone/Skin/Dialer/Portrait (Landscape)/dialbutton/MajorFlags = 1024(dec) or 400(hex)

(hides abc's letters text)
HKLM/Security/Phone/Skin/Dialer/Portrait (Landscape)/dialbutton/MinorFlags = 1024(dec) or 400(hex)

(hide Call history text)
HKLM/Security/Phone/Skin/Dialer/Portrait (Landscape)/verbbutton/textFlags = 1024(dec) or 400(hex)

Remember to repeat the above registry edits for Landscape as well as noted in parentheses above.

Again, if any of these variables do not exist then just create it (DWORD).

If you updated to the latest Sprint ROM, then you need to change one more value:
(fix voicemail icon on new rom)
HKCU\ControlPanel\PhoneExtendFunction\CDMA\EnableV oicemailIcon = 0

optional:
(change text color on Progress Page)
HKLM/Security/Phone/Skin/Progress/Portrait (Landscape)/verbbutton/textColor = FFFFFF (hex)

---------------------------------------------------------------------

It would be nice if the dialer (or a version of the dialer) was set up by default to accept Touch layout skin better.

Superfly,
Here is the one I use. This one has my company logo in the call status screen, but it is the "Touch" skin, all drawn with the background images and key text/number hidden.

It is not possible to skin the number buttons individually, so it is hard to get an "up/down" image on each button.

Uninstall the "Big Button" version and install this "Touch" version, then everything is drawn using background images rather than using the OS to draw the button labels.

Should make it easier to install the new background only skins going around.

thanks Paul!

Does this have the Call History text hidden as well? (Don't have the Mogul with me to test this out yet).

Also,

can you repost this on the first original post of this thread so that it will be easier to find for others?

Cool. I will do this soon. Yes, the text is hidden now. I have a version of the "Big Button" with the call history text hidden, I will post that one up too.

It may take a day or two it is on my other PC and I have to go to Atlanta tomorrow.
