here is how i got yahoo to go 2.0 to work with the freedom....
in the external gps settings,
CLICK manage gps
SET gps program port to COM1
hardware tab, set gps hardware port to COM0 (same as what you have set in the outgoing port in the BT tab)
works like a charm. someone else do it so i wont be left alone...
i set baud rate to 115200 but anything can probably work and im not sure if that makes any difference
also, im not sure if other ports will work. i only tried this way...
also just tried live search and it works in live search. i have not tried google maps as i dont have that on the phone. but im in the car with the laptop and yahoo was tracking my moves so i can confirm my settings above work....
settings/connections/ you will see an icon for external gps.
i just successfully tested this on my way home just now. i have the freedom on a lanyard and it just hangs over the rear view mirrror. i opened up YTG 2.0 and went to maps. it will ask you if you want it to find your gps unit.. hit yes.. BAM. it trailed my every move to the house. i lowered the baud rate since it seems that the screen refresh was not keeping up.. not sure if that helped but it seemed like it did help keep the screen form showing wallpaper
make sure the freedom is locked on to the birds or else you will get the error that there is no gps.. once the orange light is blinking one/second then its locked. you will have NO problems... go ahead.. try it..
My question was sincere. I truly didn't know & wasn't wanting to install Yahoo GO to find out since I already bought TomTom. I thought maybe the two programs complimented each other somehow or that there might be a reason to have both installed.
I know you can get movie showtimes and stuff in Yahoo GO, but I was specifcally talking about the GPS piece.
