Easiest way is to download Blade's PPC-6800 Hack Program

Triangle Powers Software

There is an option to disable the SMS Sent message

1. First, you will need to download a Registry Editor to help you do it...

a good one will be the freeware PHM Registry Editor
or for those who got the Resco Explorer, you can use the Registry Editor that comes with it...

2. using the Registry Editor, navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox

3. Next, click on Inbox (make sure the Inbox is highlighted) and select Edit, New Key

4. Name the New Key as "Settings"

5. Click on "Settings" (make sure the Settings is highlighted) and select Edit, New String Value

6. On "Value name:", key in SMSNoSentMsg and in "Value data", key in 1

7. Soft reset your device and test it with one SMS, and you will notice that the SMS Sent bubble is being disabled

Reg hack works...the PPC 6800 Hack program is nice since you don't have to touch the registry...one simple check box and you're done!

I just installed this for the 2nd time. I forget why I removed it the first time, but now I notice on resets, there is no sound in the start-up process (haven't even tried anything else yet). Is that a feature?

Has anyone tried this on the Verizon model yet? As much as I would love to "hack up" my phone I have to admit I'm afraid I might brick it. This would be a great alternative if I knew for sure it would work.

It's the same OS...His other version for the 6700 was a hybrid. It had options in there that were only applicable to the VZ6700 rather than the PPC6700 (and vice versa).

It should work just fine.

reg edits aren't ever going to "brick" your phone in the sense that it becomes a doorstop or anything. many times you can just delete the edit you made. But worst case you jsut hard reset the device and it will go back to it's "fresh" from the box state and you will be no worse for wear. (But buy a backup program and USE it before you going fiddling with the registry - just in case you need to do a hard reset later.)

Also FYI-

from what i gather - registry edits DONT commit right away. Sometimes it takes up to a minute to get saved. So make the change save it and then WAIT a minute before you soft reset. If you soft reset too soon sometimes it wont stick (just a newbie myself so no idea when or why it doesn't stick)

Triangle Powers Software reports they are no longer in business. Does anyone have the software mentioned in this thread that could be posted? Are there alternatives that offer the automated hacks? I can download PHM Reg Editor but the interface of this software sounded like it was worth trying out.

TIA,

Marty
