See this post from page 5 of this thread. By the way mtnmedic, have you gotten any further with your analysis for the Touch (especially headset volume)?
Thanks.....On the TOUCH, the AudioPara file is an EXCEL file.
There is no AudioPara.csv file. Unless the extension is hidden
and the Excel file has a csv after it. I copied the Excel file over to my laptop and it appears I can edit it from there. By the way, I copied the
Coarse file onto the Touch right under the Excel file and rebooted, it made no difference and appeared to do no harm. I imported the Coarse file into Excel, then copied it into the TOUCH windows directory, named exactly AudioPara.csv......did not copy over but I had 2 files with the same name
both in Excel. Anyway...that made no difference either.
Hi,
I tried AudioPara coarse on my Verizon XV6800. I do not notice any differance
in loudness in the ear piece or speaker when in a call.
I have both Jawbone and the Motorola S9 Stereo bluetooth headset both are useless as earpieces, but when watching Slingbox or a movie I have to turn the volume down!!!!
It's been this way with all the PDA's I have tried
XV6700 three months ago
Samsung i760 two months ago
Now the XV6800
I need one AudioPara file with the max value set at highest in earpiece in a call.
I still have 18 days to evaluate before I decide to keep this one

When you dropped the Audioprava in the windows registry, were you promted to accept the file overwrite? If not, I beleive that would mean it didnt work. The reason I ask is because it basically doubled the max volume on my device.
New to the forum and to the XV6800. I've been using the fine csv file and it is working great.
I got the phone last thursday and with the vol maxed out it was still difficult to hear callers on the other end. Now vol is @ 50% and plently loud. Even the speaker phone is loud. Now this is a great phone.
Im new on here and very embarrassed to say i dont have the first clue on how to increase my volume on my new Vx6800. I read these posts and feel like in entered a conversation half way through. I must admit i feel really stupid that i dont understand what to do.. If you were trying to tell a 5th grader how to do this mod how would you do it... The only thing i dont like about this phone so far is the VERY low volume. My i760 had very loud volume..
Alright guys.. trying to replace the AudioPara file. I want to save the original one but it won't let me copy it or anything, saying it's read-only... nor will it let me rename it. How should I go about to doing this?
Also which files are proven to have worked for Verizon VX6800?

I second this guy. I checked my Windows directory for the files you guys speak of, but I can't even locate that. I don't mind admitting I probably sound stupid as well, but please someone give us newbies a hand. I have a Verizon XV6800 and desperately want the volumes on my ringer, speakerphone, and standard earpiece raised. It's frustrating to have bought a phone this high in value and need to alter coding myself. Thanks...
I will try to help you best I can. I am assuming you know where to get the revised audiopara.csv file and have it on your phone or pc.
If you are using ActiveSync
1. Sync up your phone and hit the Explore button.
2. On the menu bar go to Tools>View and make sure you check Show Hidden files and Folder.
3. Now go to the /windows directory and you should see the audiopara.csv file.
If using Total Commander
1. I just copied the file into the /windows and rebooted my phone and the volume was much louder.
I hope this was all accurate and I think this is in the thread earlier on. I agree we should not have to go through this but I have yet to own a PPC phone without problems.

Which file did you apply to your phone that you're satisfied with? Just curious.
Holy ****. My earpiece and speaker are loud as hell now. This is lovely I don't even have to have it on the loudest setting. Thanks a lot for the help. Now if only I could do the same for the friggin ringer. Sheesh.
Does this only work for the Verizon version? Did not work for me. I know I have the new file because the file size was changed.
Did you soft reset your phone after applying the new file? Cuz I didn't the first time and thought it didn't work. After reseting the device my eardrums almost bled. LMAO. I have my earpiece/speaker volume at like halfway now. It's more than plenty loud.
yes this was originally from a sprint user. i have this file installed even on ther latest official ROM and i hear a difference. i think other verizon users are getting good results with this file also.
