If it's a factory fresh image, a normal hard reset image or skipped extended_rom WITH audiopara.cab ran manually image you should be able to drop the new file on top.
I hope that helps.
I have skipped extended_rom, but I would like to run AudioPara.cab manually. Where is this file?
If I sync then do a hard reset I lose all my info...my question is if I sync again after the hard reset will that restore all my entered data....ie 150 #'s and a complete years worth of scheduling???
I a having volume problems with my bluetooth volume. and it looks like a hard reset may fix it.
Took the plunge to see if I could improve output in my Touch.
I tried the files provided in post #1 and followed the instructions exactly as in Post #34 each time successfully. I noticed that the headset volume improved nicely but to my despair there was NO speaker output.
So I copied the original file back into the Windows folder and all is back to the way it was. <sigh>
I did, however, upload a copy of the original file as a text. The data in it looks a lot like the other files but there are definitely some differences. Unfortunately, I don't know which parameters should be changed and to what in order to improve the handset, speaker and bluetooth volumes.
Yesterday, I decided to take the plunge, and spent about 30 minutes reading through everything. I had skipped the Sprint customizations at hard reset, so I downloaded the Sprint para file, along with the "coarse" and "fine" files. I was able to find the HTC para file, using Total Commander, so I made an executive decision to go directly to replacing it with the "coarse" file, without the interim step of putting the Sprint para file on the device. Here's the steps I used . . . downloaded the files to my laptop, edited the name of the file, copied and pasted it to my device storage card via activsync, disconnect a/s, copy and paste over the HTC para file using Total Commander, soft reset. The result was unbelievable, although at higher volumes there was distortion. I ultimately, settled on the "fine" version, set at the third notch. Now my ear volume and speaker phone volume are just right, with plenty of room to adjust up or down. Thank you, so much for all the work.
Hey guys, does anyone know if this fix will work for xv6800 for verizon?? If it will, can anyone go into more detail on how to use this fix. I have no idea where on my phone I should go to even start replacing any file. Please help me!!!
I made the same coarse volume changes to the levels for HandsFree and Headset, which fixes the Bluetooth volume. I also increased the microphone gain from a low to a medium level. My Verizon XV6800 now works great!
Just delete everything in the attached file name after .csv, and using ActiveSync, copy and paste it into your phone's Windows directory. Then do a soft reset.
once I copy and paste the file into the windows folder on phone. Do i have to play with any settings or will it just make everything louder and work better?
When i connect to my computer through activesync, i do not see the windows folder anywhere. How do I access that folder to be able to copy and past that file in there?
go to "control panel" on your computer
open "folder options"
click on the "view" tab
select the "show hidden files and folders" box/circle under "hidden files and folders"
i tried the .csv file from the first post "AudioPara.csv_coarse_ear_extended_speaker.txt" and it did not work. i did not get any sound. even when i played a movie in wmp, i had no sound.
i also tried the file, "AudioPara.csv Coarse with Headset and Mic.txt" posted by beachbum. i'm not sure i really see a difference.
i'm also having issues with my bluetooth headset now. the headset beeps (as to tell me i have an incoming call), but when i answer the call with my headset, i do not have any sound and the mic doesn't work.
i'll keep playing with it to find the bug, but i'm not sure at this point.
I have to be honest...none of them are working very well on my VZN 6800.
The .csv files in the first post have the following issues:
1. The volume doesn't seem to improve (get louder) at all
2. On speaker phone, the sound is "choppy"...in other words, i was testing with "hello" and "can you hear me now". I could only hear "-o" and "-ear now".
I can find the file on my computer and in the windows directory, but when I try to move the new file into the phone I get "access denied". How do I fix this?
The original file is write protected. You can change that on your PC.
I read both versions (My original and Coarse) into word and did a comparison and there are major changes. My volume is pretty much OK, but wonder if anyone has an idea of exact purposes of various parameters, i.e. is there a data dictionary somewhere? Nothing on Google.
I have tried the file that BEACHBUM has posted above. At first it did not let me copy paste it into the windows folder. I downloaded the total commander and I installed that. I have put the file on my memory card and I have used the total commander to move the file to the windows folder with no problem. At first I did not notice any change, but i think i did not reboot my phone. Now when I talk to someone on the phone I have to lower the volume all the way down, and even then I cant hold the phone close to my hear cz its sooo loud hehe. The speaker phone is also great and loud and I feel like the person is right next to me talking. My friend even said that he thought the person was here with me in the room (he was in the next room) thats how clear and loud it was. And I didn't even have it set to the loudest level. So the fix works great!!!!!!!

i tried beachbum's version as well. i didn't have any problem copying the file into the windows folder. i wonder what is different. also, did you do a hard or soft reset to get yours to work?

I did the soft reset, just turned my phone off took the battery out and put it back in. Turned the phone back on
Just tried it on mine, works fine - the only thing i found was that voice command (which i couldn't get working correctly) was causing an issue so i uninstalled and it works fine.
Like everyone else, too high is too loud, i turned it down to the middle of the pole.
