I'm not sure if I fixed it or not. I tried to uninstall/reinstall the CAB and it appeared to have errored out and reinstalled the original Sprint file. Now my speakerphone works again, but the earpiece doesn't seem to be loud enough again! I tried installing the CAB fresh again and there isnt' much of a difference, which to me means that somehow I messed it up to where it's not overwriting the original Audiopara file. And every time I try to go to the web link to download the ZIP file again, Opera errors out and dies... Why does this f'n website keep reloading every 10 seconds??!
Ok, sorry for the confusion. I just managed to uninstall the CAB, get it back to normal, and retry installing the CAB.
When I reinstalled the CAB, it went back to the "fixed" mode where the earpiece is nice and loud... but the speakerphone is non existent. I also read another post on here (I think it was on page 11) where someone was experiencing the same issue.
So, I was able to repeat the error perfectly after reinstalling. Any ideas?
its hard to determine what you have done without being there with the unit. again its a simple cab install and the volume increases. i would uninstall the cab once more, soft reset, then reinstall the cab on post 195. soft reset and check it again. make sure your volumes are all up to max to tell the difference. also once you are in a call you need to adjust the volume with the volume wheel on the side as its low upon a soft reset.
I know this will sound stupid, but I can't find the AudioPar file in the windows directory. Shouldn't I see it when I use file explorer on the phone???

Nevermind.....I tried that file commander software and found the file......sorry to have wasted the space....
I just got this phone which was a replacement for my i760... i read through the posts and i have the original rom version of 2.09.605.8. does the replacement files on the first page work with that rom? cause i've read that some are made for version 3.xx and up and won't work with the 2.09. any suggestions???
i followed the instruction using that commander program... and replaced the file... first time i did it.. i tried the copy to clipboard command.. and didn't give me the overwrite files message... so i tried the second time using the copy/move command.. now it gave me the overwrite message... i tried the fine, coarse, coarse with the extended.... and i didn't see any difference..... am i doing something wrong? i think i noticed like 10% difference.. but that could be all in my head..... i didn't notice any differences as others posters mentioning of really loud.. need to lower the volume becaus its loud.... am i doing something wrong? i have the rom version 2.09
Just did it on my 6.1 and tested works perfect. If you compare the files in excel you can see they are the same format, just different levels. (The original post format is different.) I personally just copied the file and didn't use the .cab

Can you please explain to me what I have to do to make my Fuze louder, there're soo many posts, that i'm gettin confused.
Recently traded in my Treo 650 for the XV 6800 and must say, so far anyway, rather unimpressed. Using the phone to play MP3's, I find the sound quality is rather 'tinny', and the volume is weak. I am using WM10, provided with the phone (running the upgraded 6.1), and have also downloaded a trial version of "Kinoma Player".
Kinoma provides an excellent interface, but without the paid version, you have no control of bass/treble, which when activated should improve sound quality.
But volume is surprizingly weak. Cranking up the Treo to 100% will blow your eardrums out the back of your head. The XV6800 doesn't come close. And the speaker of the Treo is clear and loud, the XV again is tinny, sounds like a cheap am radio....
I'm curious: have you found a good fix for music? Perhaps a good pair of BT headphones with their own volume control?
