I did the audiopara.csv reg fix, my earpience volume did improve. However, I still sound like I am talking in a tunnel to the recepient. Guess, I will look into other earpieces now. Currently, I am using the Plantronics 510
Do the instructions for increasing the volume on a Sprint Mogul work for the Verizon XV6800? The volume stinks if I am talking in an area with even mild ambient noise. Even going to the speakerphone function is not that much help. I did not want to assume the Sprint fix would work on my VZ phone. Thanks!

I've been using the Plantronics 510 for several months with the same results - excellent RX audio, poor TX sound. Switched to the 520 last week and have not had anyone complain since.
The 520 has very low RX audio compared to the 510 though so now I'm looking at doing this csv tweak
Maybe one of you could help me figure this out please,
I can't rename, move, delete or overwrite the AudioPara file in the WINDOWS directory. I think it has to do with the restrictions on the file or folder. I've tried doing it while connected to the computer as well as using the File Explorer on the phone and Total Commander file manager, none of them work.
If you can help me out please do so, because I'd really like to fix this audio issue. Thanks guys.
I used the course and it works super. I had to load PE File explorer by Vieka, to edit the files on the device because the included explorer would not allow access to overwrite the file. I saved it first just in case. I think I might even go for a little more volume with the setup I have. Now to get the Blueant headset to work with the MS voice command when attempting to dial. Appears I have to use the 6800 mic when dialing which is not very convenient.
6/20/2008 Update,
I can now use my BlueAnt blue tooth headset to get the MS VC v1.6 to work. I used the Cab file created by another member of this website. Wonderful phone. Just a few more tweaks to go.

Reason: Update
#1 Downloaded the new file ( coarse file for me)
#2 transferred file to starage card via active sync
#3 changed name of file while on storage card.
#4 used Total Commander & moved file from storage card to windows file.
#5 Soft Reset.
Seems to work just fine now.
thanks MS for this file
Best and easiest advice yet. WOO HOO!!! All those months of suffering because I was too much of a chicken to fool around with a registry editor. It took less than 5 minutes to get this accomplished and I took my sweet time doing it so I wouldn't screw anything up too.
Oh, if anyone is interested I used Total Commander (Regisitry Editor) to get this done. It's totally FREE! Yippee! Thanks again!
I ran the new AudioPara.cab on my phone today seems to work pretty good louder i will see when im driving around n out today and will post again later.

I have read and read and canot find how to increase the volume on my XV6800.
I see where it talks about loading a new map but I am lost.
Any help would be GREAT.
Thank you in advance.

On sensitive wired headphones, my music volume was unacceptably low, so I've downloaded five variants and plan to try several, in turn. I've begun with 2lo, 1 hi (from Post 17. I'm now hearing plenty of volume...but I can't be sure how much of the improvement is owed to the new .csv. You see, my volume icon had been blocked by the third-party minimenu, pbar. Once I closed pbar, I was able to see the volume icon and discovered that the volume slider on the left had been set to about 40 percent! I've maxed it out, and between that and the new .csv, my music comes through wired headphones loud and clear.

ummm guys - hate to you bother you with this but I'm getting the same problems. I can see the Audiopara file that needs to be replaced but I can't overwrite it or change any of the properties of the existing files. I keep getting a "file cannot transferred" message since that other file is protected somehow. I've tried this in Resco 2007 and it's a no go when copying from the card to the windows directory.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.....
Thanks!
UPDATE: Never mind - I think I may have this working in a minute, downloaded total commander and can edit the files. Thanks!
Thanks Marctronixx - I read post 195 but I'm still at 2.09 (damn Slorizion and thier slow updates) but I installed another one that didn't seem to do much even though it shows the files were updated correctly.
I'm going to try one from the first page and see if that helps.
Thanks for the updates! It made my phone louder, which is one of my primary complaints with the XV6800.. I used the coarse version. It seems that I only use the top two or three settings 99% of the time... Is there any way to make it louder? I looked at the file in Excel, but I'm not really sure where you made the adjustments. Can you shed some light on this for me? Thanks!
Ok - I did the coarse update posted on the first page and boy did that make a difference. I can actually hear the phone while walking through the mall with elevator music in the background and people talking.
Why the carriers didn't keep the settings this way is beyond me.
