Well out of frustration and exploration, I found that from the main screen if you click on the speaker icon and turn the left slider which has an illustration of the mogul up the volume is loud enough to damage your hearing if you like.

Try that.

I am no longer looking for a solution to this problem, and I am glad that I am thrifty enough to have resisted purchasing a registry editor, wasting countless hours trying to copy and paste registry hacks. I found this to be the solution that was there all along, and for free. It worked for me, and considering we all have identical hardware Im sure it will work for you.
Total commander IS FREE and it took all of 15 seconds to replace the file. So I don't really get what you are talking about. Maybe YOU just don't want to mess around with your registry and that's fine. Have a lovely V-day

I just used the AudioPara.csv_coarse.txt on my XV6800 and it works great!! Low volume was one of my biggest complaints with this phone.

Sorry if this shows up as a duplicate - can find the original. I downloaded a couple of the files and renamed them to audiopara.csv. They are showing as Excel files and when I open them it opens in Excel. Is that correct or is there something I'm doing wrong - what should the association be and how do I correct?
Thanks.... Steve

OK - after a false start I was able to replace the file with the AuduioPara.csv_coarse_ear_extended_speaker.txt version and the volume during calls and the speakerphone are definately louder and much improved. BUT - it did not seem to have much, if any effect, on the ringer - still difficult to hear the phone ring. Does the file change that as well or is there a different one I need to use?

Thanks.... Steve

The tweak is only for the ear piece and BT. The speaker volume remains the same.

Thank you very much that's all we need was step by step.

I've worked with computers for 25 yrs, and if you have never worked with a smartphone its like setting a vcr for the first time. If you don't know how to use Total Command you might as well be ready a differn language.

As for registry fixes if you don't hhave a post saying you have to d/l a register editor to the phone , your like ok how the $%#@ do I get into the registry.

I'am new to all this and I 52yrold, some of us need step by step, what to do and what to use to do it, that all we little brain need. Don't expect all of us to know how to do things exspecialy the new people. So please be easy on us we depend on you the experts to lead us thru the wilderness.

Thank you to all the admins for kepping this forum going and to all of you who make it possible to have and enjoy our smartphones.

Deegimus - I like your changes. But on my vx6800 the speakerphone has has stopped working and the ringer does not ring. I am going to change back to the course audio one to see if that is it, but would like to know if u have any similar issues. I really like the lower volume at the low end.

Volume Issues??

I am looking for a hack to increase the ringer and speaker phone volume. Does any one know of one. I looked and found a few threads for volume hacks but when I attempted to follow the path to the hack my device didnt have the specified path. I would also like a hack, if one exists, to increase the BT volume. Can anyone please help?

Lightbulb

Hey guys...any plan on updating this fix to work with the new ROM..audiopara.csv is now a larger file, and overwriting it with this version renders everything silent.

I miss this fix soooo badly, the new ROM is back to its old whisper quiet...help!!

new one for the new ROM....

FOR 3.XX GPS ROMS ONLY!!!!!

people seem to be missing that so I make it big now.

I've had this up for awhile on ppc and xda, thought I'd plop in here now thats its easier to use...

The attached zip file has the new 3.XX csv file in it, it also has a cab file that run on your phone and it installs a louder audiopara for you.

Dont forget to soft reset after either copying or cabbing, and backup your original BEFORE you do anything.
Attached Files
File Type: zip AudioPara.zip (3.8 KB, 803 views)

In the file for the 3.5 ROMs what are the volume levels and ranges for the various output devices? Thanks.

Also what does the .CAB file do? Where does it install to? (It didn't seem to do anything until I copied the .csv file over and replaced the one in the windows directory)

the speakerphone and ear speaker are pushed to the point of just under distortion, about 40% higher than stock. The wired headphones volume is up about 15%. There is another one I have on ppcg that has louder headphones as well.

The cab simply dumps the file into the windows directory. You still need to soft reset.

I used Deegimus's fix and it works great, except the volume on the speakerphone was almost non-existent. I made one change to the file, row B11, PHONE_HANDSFREE_VOL5, column 19. Original file showed 7FFF, I changed it back to 7F and now the phone works great. I'm still trying to increase the sound of the speakerphone but don't know the progression of the entry parameters. What are the volume settings from low to high? Is FFFF lower or higher than C000? I'm new to this so any help would be appreciated.

Hi i used this on the new sprint ROM and it works well. Only thing is now the earcup volume is actually too loud for me. The lowest setting is good for normal talking but i think if the person on the other end were talking loudly it would be too loud for me.

How do i go about lowering just the earcup volume? Actually, i was satisfied w/ the original earcup volume, i just wanted to up the speakerphone volume. Is there a file for that?
