For all you Tube-aholics, this is it! You now have direct, unfettered access to Youtube, Google Video & Veoh, in all their glory. Install the CABs listed below, go directly to these websites, and click on a video to play. That's it
If you follow the instructions exactly and use the preconfigured TCPMP settings, you should be able to play videos smoothly if your network connection is adequate.
Installation instructions:
1) If you already have a version of TCPMP installed, uninstall it now.
2) Install tcpmp.pocketpc.0.72RC1.cab: http://picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/test/t...pc.0.72RC1.cab
3) Install FlashVideoBundle.CAB attached below (this MUST be installed in the same location as TCPMP).. it is in a zip file so unzip first then copy the cab over.
4) Soft-reset
I followed the installation instructions on my new 6800 from chaldean, I am not able to play youtube videos. Google videos work fine (AVI format I guess). it seems like the flash driver is not working. I installed TCPMP and FLASH driver in the same location on storage card. any ideas?
I finally figured out that the "rstp iprotocol is not supported error" is from putting the cab file in a subdirectory instead of the top directory when doing the install.
hey guess what youtube changed their site again and now this hack doesn't work anymore. Its like they purposely mess things up every couple of months to get people like us to stop using their site
greetings. this may be old news by now, but there's a link over at ppcgeeks that'll take you to treo central which has a new tcpmp version. i just downloaded and youtube is working great again. sorry if this has been posted already.
Finally got mine going last night. I already had tcpmp and the tcpmp plugin installed. Uninstalled the first flashvideobundle and installed the later one. I had to go to the desktop version of youtube though...mobile version wont work. When you click a video it gives a little popup to either Play, Save, or Linked Page. You click play and it opens tcpmp. I changed tcpmp to auto play in full screen. Had a problem with the video being choppy and the lipsync effect. Changed manual a/v offset +/- to (-400). As soon as i did that the video was perfect.
Thanks for correcting me wayne. Yeah, its the flashvideobundle. I think i may have reinstalled tcpmp also. I'm just glad youtube works again. One more thing Wayne, any chance you could explain to me how to insert a link into a post? I just don't know how to do that. Thanks again for correcting me.
But it doesn't include our phones: The app is at "m.youtube.com/app" but I got this response: "Sorry, your phone isn't on our list of supported models...check again soon".
I know that PIEplus is compatible with this but I am seeing if there are any programs similar to opera that allow for java and full page display without reorganizing the page to fit on a mobile.
i get an error on youtube mobile when i try. i don't see the point in downloading flashbundles and another player when all of youtubes videos are on the mobile site now... just need to get the mobile working on our phones. as far as i can see we don't have the proper codec for the 3gp they use now...
