I have the Xv6800. I installed TCPMP 072RCI no problem. It installed as a new program on my phone. I did unzip the FlashVideoBundle but I don't know how to install it into the phone. There doesn't seem to be a "Setup" icon. I am not too tech saavy. What am I doing wrong? I want to see YouTube videoa on my phone. Thanks
OK I Tryed this on my Freshly upgraded 6800 and It was a no go Has any one tryed on the 6.1 version of WM? The Idiot approach (By the way Thanks for Providing) Failed me on this Version. My Install Includes Sprite backup 6.2.2, PhoneAlarm 2.0.06, Garmin Mobile XT4.20.50wp, Ewallet Pro 6, List Pro 5, and some games that are strait single executables (tetris, Backgammon, Checkers, Chess and colors.)
If you can Stream strait from YouTube without going to tiny tube on this Version what di dyou have to do? I will contiinue to look for an anwser? Maybe someone will drop it on my lap.
I had it (flash video bundle + tcpmp) working fine in DCD's 6.1 - however, i recently switched to the Sprint 6.1 version (got my device replaced), and it hasn't working yet with this OS.
I think i'm going to switch to the newest DCD's because i want my videos back...
I "bought" the $30 commercial version of Kinoma by agreeing to a trial membership with a participating partner. Good deal. I urge you to test-drive the commercial Kinoma; it sets a new bar for the handling of rich media. I've actually removed my installation of the $30 Core Player; what Core did best was freeze my XV6800.
When I upgraded to wm6.1 I found that I needed a 6.1 version of tcpmp. I searched for it, DL'ed the cab from their site, and in this version flash was supported already with no bundle at all.
I did have to go to settings, associations and check the flash and http boxes as always, but it worked right out of the gate. I use that and ytpocket.com (thru PIE) for the little youtube that I do and for running my Orb stuff.
For any other flash stuff (aol video, etc) I stick with Skyfire, it is a little choppy still, but you can't beat it with the custom zoom and the ability to do embedded.
Skyfire's proxy (monitoring as you put it) is why I only surf there casually. If you want to be technical about it, Opera Mini does something similar. This, so far, is the only way to get a mobile browser to fly - give the heavy lifting to a server somewhere.
Would I do banking on these? NO. Will I surf the net and do 90% of what I do on the web? Absolutely.
I'm going through one Verizon FRU after another. This time, I installed tcpmp and the November plugin update onto the storage card, videos would not play. Uninstalled, reinstalled onto the device, now downloaded videos play, but when using PIE with youtube, youtube either will play the video really small in windows media player, or if i click on the actual link, videoloader says something like "youtube swf args..." not found or something like that. I don't like streaming in Firefox, I want to play them in tcpmp. Any tips or help?
Does anyone have a link to a 'clean' version of TCPMP for 6.1 -- the link at XDA is quite difficult to follow and appears to require some specific expertise, with several reqired parts. Also, I am using the trial of Kinoma and it appears to be extremely clever, with IPOD like scrolling and easy access to Youtube and the like. Probably worth the $30 bucks.
Yes, if opened in PIE from the ytpocket.com site. My suggestion is either choose Skyfire, or Vtap. Vtap being my preference as it is faster and easier specifically for online video.
