don't bother. youtube has recently put all of their videos on the mobile site, just get HTC video streamer (google search it) and go to the youtube mobile site. very easy.
Unless I'm reading this entire thread wrong, there seem to be two schools of thought regarding this issue. On one hand, the solution is to download and install TCPMP and the bundle. On the other hand, to use the HTC video streamer as the solution (mentioned above).
For me, I downloaded and installed TCPMP, the bundle, and the FLV plug-in on the root directory of my memory card. This made You Tube Pocket work just fine (after following all of the directions for the application settings in this thread and from the YTP website). However, I can't seem to get Google Video to work, and I haven't yet tried any other video websites on my device.
BTW, don't bother trying to ask you service provider to help. Not one single person working in the Verizon store could even tell me IF the 6800 had the capability of viewing streaming video, much less how to make it work IF it could.
I'm content right now using YTP, but I feel this is just a backdoor fix. There should be a way to view streaming video without all the hassle, from any video site. I mean, how does the iPhone do it????
Anyway, not sure why the other sites don't work, but like I said, I'm content right now with YTP... so, thanks everybody for helping out.
I'm having a problem with VEOH and maybe someone can help. I have TCPMP and flash installed and have no problems playing video but I'm getting a LOT of file not found errors. As an example, from the VEOH home page I click on the link for Bones, click on the link for the first video and on my PC it starts to play fine but on my XV6800 I get the file not found message. Any suggestions?

YTpocket *is* a backdoor fix, specifically because PocketPC's, as a rule, don't have the correct hardware to support Flash technology.. or at least, not all of it. The reason Google Video or other sites won't work is because YTPocket is coded specifically for YouTube (also, VEOHPocket). Every once in a while, YouTube modifies their code, and it 'breaks' YTPocket - that's when the guy who runs the site (Andy, I think?) has to figure out what they did, and code around it.
In short - it's a translation tool. It works perfectly, in my opinion - you can even download content, which I've done liberally. Keep in mind that the site is run by one guy, and he does what he can to keep it up and running consistently.
The iPhone commercials annoy the bloody hell out of me, because all the things that they tout on those commercials are things we've been doing on the PocketPC platform for years. I will grant you that they can play YouTube videos natively, but yknow - big whoop. We've been emailing and web browsing and listening to music and taking calls on our converged devices for years. So yknow... bugger off, iPhone.
Anyhoo, yeah - YTPocket is cool.

Hey Steve,
I think on the YTPOCKET.COM homepage, there's a message about VEOHPocket being down for some reason. Again, keep in mind that only one guy runs that site, so he's probably just not able to get to it right away. In lieu of that, just use YTPocket.. works great.

Thanks for the education, I think I understand it better now. Still confused as to why people in this thread are talking about this working with Google...
Anyway, I don't watch a ton of videos, so YTPocket is perfect for my usage.
I downloaded a video file via YTPocket, but when I went to open the file, YTPocket did not recognize it as a media file. So I tried to open it manually from the source location on my microSD card, and was informed that the file was not a valid file (or something like that).
Is there a "trick" to downloading videos from YTPocket?
Two things you'll find when you download movies with YTPocket:
1) Sometimes the video is named properly - e.g.: "MST3K - Hercules Part 3.flv". More often than not, though, it will just download as "download" with no extension. When you are prompted to download, I usually uncheck the "Open when finished downloading" button, then I click "Change" and name the file appropriately. (Another bit of oddness.. sometimes when I save directly to the SD card, even if there's lots of room, it will finish the download, then tell me that there's not enough space on the card, and the file gets dumped - so I just save it to my local memory, then move it to my SD card manually. )
2) Every once in a while, instead of offering you the actual file, the download window will prompt you with "Do you want to download "download" for 266 bytes?". I dunno why it does that, but it's always 266 bytes, which obviously isn't a full file. I just hit "Cancel", then click the download link again (sometimes it takes a try or two), and then I get the full file.
In either case, the file extension must be set to .FLV
This all sounds like a pain in the neck, but it's actually very simple... I'm just long-winded.

I'm having trouble. I used to have this on my Mogul and it worked perfectly, but I updated to the new ROM and I'm having trouble. I installed everything and rebooted, but I don't see the link for the Video Sites anymore. I recall it showing up with TCPMP the first time I installed it, but for some reason I can't find it anymore. Does anyone know what I'm supposed to do?
I don't know if anyone has posted this yet as I only checked this page and the preceding one, but CorePlayer Mobile 1.2.1 has an awesome YouTube interface. You can search right from the player itself. Just make sure to go to the Network preference tab and select high quality so you get the h.264 versions of the videos.
Hey all im stuck. I have installed tcmp and flashbundle today with the most recent .flv files. When i try to launch any video from youtube i get message
