The Mini GPS should work fine with the Treo 650 (assuming you have navigation/GPS tracking software). Bluetooth V2 is backwards compatible with 1.2/1.1
*******I have removed this post because it was about another seller who said to have this same device for less money. After receiving a comprehensive response from Christine, who explained that it was impossible for the other seller to have any quantity of this device, I figured it was prudent to remove the posting.*******
While I ordered mine from Christine (and she was very prompt in her replies), you can get this same item for $10 less on ebay, including shipping. The seller says there are 1000 units available.
LOL Try and buy one from this site and see if he has any stock. He is, as they say in the UK, flying a kite! He cannot have ANY stock because the only pieces shipped to the US at the moment are to Forum members! And, whilst I have sold a lot of units to Forum members, nobody has bought 1000 pieces off me!
Our US distributors will soon have the Freedom Mini GPS in stock but they will sell at the retail price of $99.99.
Would anyone who has one in route already be willing to send me their unit and I'll send my unit, or better yet, have Chris send it directly to them? It's paid for and will ship in the morning as I missed the shipping window today..
I have a short trip this weekend and it doesn't look like my Mini will make it before the weekend.
Email me at javin.rogersATkenexa.com if you can help a fella out.

Received my Freedom Mini GPS today - Thanks Chris.
Works great so far! - Only tested with live search/google maps/gpsgate. Has anyone been able to actually get yahoo go 2.0 to work with external GPS? I've tried it with both the "external gps" app setup and without - no luck getting yahoo to recognize.
I received my freedom gps receiver and I am trying to get my 6800 to connect with it. Currently the receiver is flashing orange/blue and when I try to pair them my phone recognizes it asks for a pascode which I enter and then asks me what services to configure. The only thing listed is "serial port". I check this and click finish and still nothing. The receiver should only stay with a blue light but it doesnt... Ideas???

Is this why you think there is a problem, because the GPS LED doesn't stay with a constant blue light? I've never paid that close attention to the LED behavior on the GPS unit but I do not recall it ever being a steady blue, even after I just paired it. I know what the manual says but its not up to date, see the updated manual here: Freedom Mini GPS Manual - Powered By Kayako SupportSuite
The LED always seem to be alternating between 2 colors in my experience, orange for one second to illustrate that the device is communicating with the GPS satellites and it will do this regardless if it is paired with the Mogul or not, and the other color, blue, for the next second or two to show it is on and/or connected to the phone.
Have you actually tried to use the device with a GPS program yet?
I have tried live search and google maps and to be honest I am really confused with the settings? COM ports, GPS ports? Program ports? Any help would be greatly appreciated... I will not pay attension to the light...
I briefly tried to use the GPS with the Live app as well as Google Maps but was unsuccesful but I didn't really tinker with it. I did get it working with TomTom though. Others here seem to have gotten the mini GPS unit to work with Live/Google Maps so maybe they can provide some guidance with that.
With regards to lights on the mini GPS there are 3 lights and they blink in different ways depending on what is going on.
Blue light = Bluetooth Status
Orange Light = Satellite Status
Red Light = Battery Status
Blue light
Flashing once per second = Bluetooth ready to be paired/connected
Flashing twice per second = Bluetooth connected
Light on steady = This happens if the device is not paired. it means it is not longer in discovery mode and needs to be turned on/off to go back to flashing once per second.
Orange light
Light on steady = Searching for GPS signal
Flashing = Satellite signal connected.
Red light
Comes on when battery is being charged. Turns off when battery is fully charged.
Pink/Purple lights. There are no pink or purple lights but if you are looking at the unit from a distance sometimes both the blue and red lights flash at the same time with can give a pink/purple glow. If you look closer you should be able to see the separate LED's and their blink patterns.
Batman31 - It sounds like you paired it correctly. As above both lights will flash when operational and on some devices you may have to select the port it uses (which is the serial port).
Once it is paired you will need to select the GPS source in whatever software you are using. This is done differently for different software but normally it is in the options or settings menu. Google maps on a BlackBerry for example you press the menu button, go to bluetooth GPS and select the GPS unit (SPP S).
So Im pretty sure that Im synched but not getting anything to work? Once I pair devices I need to establish a com port? Then there is also on the 6800 a port for "external gps" which has an option for com port and also hardware port. Then each program asks you which port? Also, what about the seeting where it asks me to manage the gps settings automatically (under the acces tab of external gps)?
It is kind of hard to give specific instructions because it is very different depending on the device and software used.
Q)Once I pair devices I need to establish a com port?
A)Yes
Q)Then there is also on the 6800 a port for "external gps" which has an option for com port and also hardware port.
A)I honestly don't know what this part is? Where abouts do you find this setting? It may be that you put in here whatever com port you selected and this is then set as being a GPS receiver. Without a 6800 though this is just speculation on my part I'm afraid.
Q)Then each program asks you which port?
A) Yes, normally in the program it will ask you which device to use for GPS, select the com port that you connected the GPS unit to.
Q)Also, what about the seeting where it asks me to manage the gps settings automatically (under the acces tab of external gps)?
A) Again I'm afraid I do not know. I have not had chance to look at a 6800 so do not know how it works or how it handles bluetooth/GPS connections.
What happens if you change to manually setup the settings for GPS? (if you can)
Got the unit yesterday. After completing a full charge, I had it up and running with Live Search in a couple of minutes. I chose COM 2. I initially tried COM 0 but it did not work. Hope this helps. I have not tried it with Yahoo GO or Google Maps.
Yea, I just chose the correct COM in each program = to what I setup as outgoing port in bluetooth settings for this GPS. This is no different than any other GPS out there as far as setup - it's just a very useful key chain GPS . The problem with Yahoo Go is that I can't find any way to select COM for gps....not sure if there is a default or if Yahoo is suppose to search and find it (which it appears to attempt but doesn't work). The "External GPS" application is built in and suppose to manage the gps connection among multiple progams - like gpsgate. I've used it in the past and it may or may not work for certain programs - but you can always manage the connection manually yourself if you aren't running multiple gps programs at once.
Does anybody know what type of port it is that the Freedom Mini GPS uses for charging? I am looking to buy a car mount and it says it will charge the GPS, but I have to choose between:

1. miniUSB
2. 4mm DC
Thanks.
I believe it says in the thread and their site "MiniUSB".
