TCPMP plugin for Flash video v0.4 released

It looks like a new version of the flash video (.flv) plugin for TCPMP was just recently released.

For those not in the know, it's a plugin designed to work with the great freeware media player TCPMP, that lets you play flash video files.

It is designed for Pocket PC 2003, Windows Mobile 5.0 and higher. The plugin will never support the commercial successor to TCPMP CorePlayer (licensing issues).

This version allows you to play flv files directly over the internet via the site http://www.mobytube.net/ which lets your search and play YouTube and Google Video files via a mobile browser such as Pocket Internet Explorer.

I tried it out and it works great.

1.) For ease of use you should make sure TCPMP is associated with .m3u files.
2.) Then just visit http://www.mobytube.net/ with Pocket Internet Explorer (or Opera Mobile or other web browser that lets you download/launch files).
3.) Search for a video, once you find one you want to play, click on the video to download/launch the .m3u in TCPMP.
4.) Depending on your settings in TCPMP you might have to click the play button to start streaming the video.

*For smoother video playback on the Mogul make sure to choose Options->Video "GDI" in TCPMP.

WHen you install the plugin it puts it in \program files\tcpmp even if you say to install to Storage Card.

Just move them out of there and put them in \storage card\program files\tcpmp \

or where ever you installed it. so as long as the plugins are in the same directory of the exe.

i downloaded the files to the tcpmp directory and searched a youtube video clicked it and i get "there is no application associated with "2124688422" run the application first then open this file from within the application"

is it because im using the newest tcpmp .81, it puts it into /programfiles/tcpmp media/player

I don't think the 4.0 version (new version is 4.2) put the files in the right place, or maybe you downloaded (I may have at first a couple weeks ago too) the zip file instead. Anyway, it will dump the files where they need to go now.

Is anyone having problems with 0.42? It works if I save the files as a .flv and then play in TCPMP, but I can't stream anymore. TCPMP gives me an error that it's an unknown file format.

You can get around that, just rename the file and add .flv at the end.

I'm using TCPMP .72RC1, same as I've always used on my Mogul.

This flash video that you downloaded is it from youtube? Because these files that get put on our Mogul are just links to the video on youtube. Maybe the video has been deleted or moved? Try searching for it again and streaming it. See if it plays.

just a thought.

Guys, I am new on this forum and I've been beating my head up agains different versions of TCPMP to make it play streaming video including youtube.
Questions number one - when I go to mobytube.net I can find different video clips, but not all of them are playing well. Some of them just freeze up after playing for few seconds and some just give me error message. For instance I wanted to play "bennybenasy satisfaction" clip and it gave me an error that it cannot play this file. I can view and play this file on a regular youtube without any problems.
Another question, to play youtube on TCPMP I can only use mobytube? Is there a way to play youtube from its regular site? I for instance have an account on youtube and I store all the clips that I like in my account so that way I don't have to search for them in the future. I didn't see how I can get to my account from mobytube.

Thanks.
