How to free up memory?

After I install a program can I delete the cab file? I'm trying to free up memory and keep my 68 running as fast as possible. Also will the memaid program help with this as well?

Remember, the storage memory and program memory are separate in this device - free storage memory will not have any real effect on speed.

Is free storage memory different than program or storage memory.

Storage memory is like a conventional computer's hard drive, and program memory like the computer's RAM.

I know there are benefits the way it is now, but I sure do miss the sliding memory management of WM03. I would put only the necesary programs in storage and rest on my card and have 30 or 40 mb free for RAM. .....ah the good ol' days!

Had to do it that way so that you could use NVRAM for storage - it's not fast enough for program memory yet. I won't miss at all the little frisson that goes through me when the power runs out on my 6600 and I plug it in to power and watch the screen come up and wonder if I have to restore from backup - and my last backup is a month old...

I am somewhat saddened that they only went for 64 mb RAM - but at the same time, my old iPAQ 3800 only had that TOTAL. Kids these days have it easy.
