Ok, here is my own updated version:

Brightness .dll included and the registry modded so that it defaults to the HTC audio player instead of WMP. I also have it set to default to fahrenheit instead of celsius. The XML file for the weather is my own too so you will have to edit it to add your own city. It's also been modded so you can move it up or down on the today screen.

I thought some people here might want it. I've been running with that .dll for 3 days now and it works great.

EDIT: I made a couple small tweaks. Had to change a file attribute and a location/overwrite attribute for my mods I forgot.

NOTE: You still need to tweak the reg to add the 6th tab per schen's post earlier, I still have it disabled and I also have the tabs set by default to the order I personally like.

EDIT: I've since fixed it so it's working perfectly on my phone (HTC Mogul) and I also added the clear icon pack.

Heads up everyone,
for those who are annoyed that your choice of cities is limited through the htc.accuweather.com link, a dude over at XDA made a work around. It's 2 in the morning here, I'm going to sleep now but will definitely give this a hard look tomorrow. I will update on my sucesses (or failures)

link:
HTC Homeplug Weather fix - get your LOCAL weather, not the restricted HTC locations! - xda-developers

btw sorry to link to another forum but the info there is as complete as it can be without me copying and pasting it.

Ok I lied, I didn't go to sleep, I decided to redo my phone, install the A La Carte version (Thanks to all for this, it's awesome). I also did the weather fix in the link provided above. It all works like a charm now. Took some time to get the cities formatted properly but it all works now. Give it a try if you don't want to have only major cities in your weather!

You do have to sign up to see the download link. I have asked the author if I can post a copy over here and am awaiting a response.

Does anyone know if you can change the Icons of your apps on the quicklaunch tab?

OK, I got permission to post the HTC Home Plugin Customizer. This app is a couple of mb due to it containing all the color and default icons as well as the installer cab for the HTC Home Plug. It's too large to fit here, so I had to stick it on Rapidshare. Below is the link for version .4. I haven't tested all its features, but the previous versions worked for me.

RapidShare: Download Link for HTC Home Plugin Customizer v0.4

I urge anyone that has ideas to go over to the ppcgeeks forum thread and let him know.

I have this version, so far so good. No real issues with it...combined with the weather fix from XDA, this app is running great now!

stroths,

just to verify, this is bascially the htc plug screen with the wx, contacts, quick launch, etc.. bascially the 6 tab version but allows you to customize it further... correct?

Correct. It is based off the 6 tab version (a la cart)

appreciate that. i tried the tab renumbering option but the tabs didnt renumber. perhaps its because i have the plugin in s/card instead of main. i also did not load the htc plugin form this version. i just used a version i had earlier.. should i use this version of the htc home plugin that came with this version or would it even matter?

is my question clear as mud?

I think you need to load the newest version for the "A la carte" option to work.

Transparent Greyscale Icon Set

Just put these on mine and they look nice. I had to disable the home plug, reboot, copy the files to the \htchome directory, re-enable the home plug and reboot.

Below are pics from the XDA thread using these icons. Its not a screenshot of my device.

LOL, it only took me 4 different forums, and 5 tries to get HTC Plugins to work properly on my Mogul.

Why did I look at this form last I'll never know.

This was asked earlier but not answered. Is there any way to make Pocket Player the default music app? I saw the reg edit for WMP & HTC:

HKLM\Software\HTC\Music Plug-In\
Change the "MusicPlayer" value to 1 for WMP or 2 for the HTC Audio Manager

Would Pocket Player be a value of 3, or is it much more complicated than that?

Much more complicated than that. Since HTC designed this plugin for their phones, they assume that WMP and HTC Audio Manager are the only two programs installed on the phone.

hello all, I love this plugin but I have a problem. I use Softick's Card Export II and since installing this it has disabled CE II, everytime I click it says that I need to reinstall. When I reinstall it will work until I soft reset then it's gone again. Anyone else having this problem or know of a cure? Thanks in advance.

Do you have a 6700 or a 6800? this is a 6800 forum, and as far as I know Card Export isn't compatible with the 6800, so I doubt anyone here would have an answer to your question.
