The uninstall should be under the Start->Settings->System->Remove Programs. It should be labeled "HTC Touch Home Plugin".

If you just have the factory HTC HomePlugin, then don't worry as you can't uninstall it (its in the ROM).

Do you think I have a bad download. It wont even let me get far enough in the installation process to choose where install the program to(main memory, storage card). Stroths man I thank you for the guidance you've give so far!

That may be the problem. Try to download it again to your PC and then copy it over to your phone and install.

If that does not work, go to \Windows\AppMgr and see if you have any remnants of an install there. If so, it should be named something like JUVS HTC_Home. If its there, try renaming it and then installing again.

Nice, Stroths - good post!
Crap: The color cab made my phone go into an endless reboot loop. Had to HR. Been meaning to anyway.

Very very nice! =) My only problem with it is that every time I get a reminder popup on my 6800, like one on my Outlook calendar which is synced, it puts my phone into vibrate mode and I am in the "normal" ring setting in the last tab. Does the same thing when in "automatic" mode. To be honest, I never want the reminders to pop up on my phone anyway really. I also notice when I reboot my phone, it defaults to vibrate mode. Also I would like to have sound and display for a new incoming text message. So is there a fix to my problem?

Huge Bug: After installing this new HTC Home and Color Icons, my PPC 6800 goes from what ever ring mode I was in into Vibrate after a reminder for an Event. No one has mentioned this since its Sunday and you probably don't have many reminders today or you haven't noticed! Confirmed on 2 different phones.

There is a new version which should fix this and it also installs the files in its own directory rather than the \Windows directory. Uninstall your current version and install the new one.

Exactly. I think it is a great feature for those who want it, but in my situation it is completely not wanted.

Anyone have a fix? Need one soon or I will have to remove the new homeplug which for every other aspect I luv!

The fix is to uninstall your current version and install the new version from the link in my first post.

I already had the Freelancer fixed one installed and still have this problem. How can you tell, in a cab file, what version it is?

Can you please post the exact link to the file so I can try and download this brand new one you are talking about.

Thanks a bunch

Didnt work Uninstalled all, rebooted, reinstalled that first one from your first link, the Freelancer2k7 fixed, rebooted, still switches to virbate mode when there is a calendar appointment notification.

I read through that thread and it says it works but I am not sure what file they are talking about because it doesnt work for me.

I'm not sure in that case. I had the original version and then uninstalled and installed the version up there this morning and it fixed it for me. I just tested it and my ringer stayed on even when the meeting time started.
