I'm not sure if it matters, but I when I use MemMaid to look at my Notification Queue, I see:

\Program Files\LED Killer\MortScript.exe

instead of

\Program Files\LED Killer\LEDoff.mscr

I clicked on this file: \Program Files\LED Killer\MortScript.exe, and it registered the .mscr file extension.

Now the LED stays off after a notification

Could someone else please check and see if this works for them as well.

ok, I have been way busy and haven't been following this thread. since there are so many that havethe broblem with the led flashing afert notifications, I will write version 3.0 this is what I had in mind from the very beginning.

I will now create a loop that will run every 2 seconds that the phone is awake. it will no longer require the notification que. I have gotten the green flash everyonce in a while as well. it weems that the notification que is not doing what it is suppose to. no biggy. give me a few hours, and I will write something at lunch. I will send it to stroths to post in the first post of this thread. thanks everyone for your patience.

And to alleviate any battery usage fears, the new version Cody is cooking up should have little impact (if any) compared to the constantly blinking service LED.

Version 3 uploaded. New version does away with notification queue completely as it appeared to be the issue with the previous versions. Uninstall any previous versions and install this one.

For those of you that are concerned about running an app constantly, you should be able to get version 2.0 to work by running \Program Files\LED Killer\MortScript.exe

I think that people who already had the first version had already run this program, but the people who started at 2.0 hadn't run this yet and the ppc6800 needs this to be run in order to know what to do with the .mscr file

It works perfectly for me now. I would rather use 2.0 because my ppc6800 is painfully slow as it is, and I would rather not have any additional programs running, no matter how little processing power they consume.

version 3.0 kills the charging led but still lets it charge. hmmm. i dont know if i like that. i'm glad all you are my beta testers. let me know if you like it even tho it kills the charge led.

cody

update. actually it's now a fight. the charge led wins every once in a while. the out come is a slow orange led blink while charging.

i think i will be going back to 2.0. lol.

for those who had problems with the notifications starting the green led back up agian and the "tap to activate mortscript" trick posted above didnt work. this may be for you. other wise......

thanks, cody

That worked like a charm, no more flashing light. Mad props!

Cody,

If the screen is off when you plug it in the charger, it is a constant orange. If you turn it on while its charging, it effects the LED.

I also reattached the 2.0 version to the 1st post so people can have a choice between which version they want to use.

i will fix the 3.0 version this weekend. maybe tonight. more or less we will post two versions. one with loop, one without. it really shouldn't change battery usage.

Version 3.1 has been uploaded to the 1st post. It's a minor update to fix the bug in version 3.0 where LED would flash orange when charging when no notifications were present. Now the solid orange LED will turn off when you first plug it in the charger for about 3 or 4 seconds then turn back on like normal. The green flashing LED is still suppressed like normal.

3.1 works great. I didn't really mind restarting with 2.0 but it sure is nice to not have to do that at all with 3.1

Great little app Stroths

You guys are awesome. Makes me wonder why Sprint doesn't hire people like you two to fix problems on the Mogul.

So that problem with the LED blinking during charge is fixed right? Also how great does this help with battery draining? Anyways what p9142 said i believe is true. You guys are great. Sprint should try and learn something from you guys.

Its hard to say how much battery life this will save. The 2.x version will save the most as its not constantly running in the background. However, I suspect the 3.x versions will still save more battery life than no LED Killer at all since the LED should be using more juice than the LED Killer app.

It would have been nice if Sprint chose to disable this service LED by default like they did with the Treos. Regardless, we are just glad they are suppressed now.

The answer: Corp Efficiency. The longer there are issues to address the more job security for those who have to "find" a possible solution to resolve them.
