I just installed Spb Time on my 6800 today, and it seems to have fixed the alarm bug. I tested it 4 different times, twice plugged in, twice unplugged, all four times in sleep mode. It worked every time. Just to mention any other changes I made, I also just put the extended battery on the phone (which I don't think has anything to do with the alarm working).

before the ROM fix, my work around was to leave the screen on when I plugged it into a power source. It would just go dim after a few minutes but never turn off. The alarm would always work then.

can u tell me where u got the spb time i hve been late for werk twice in 2 weeks cause alarm never went off
Spb Software House
BTW the Windows Mobiel default alarm is the only one that works when you install this program - so it's kind of a fix for the Windows Mobile default alarm - but does not allow Spb Alarm to work - dunno why. But it's been working for me since I installed it.
are there any concerns with screen burn while leaving the phone on when it charges overnight?
Not really.
Eventually, after MANY years of a strong baclight, the colors in the LCD will start to bleach and not be as strong.
Also, assuming they use white LEDs for the backlight, the UV in some LEDs eventually causes the plastics in the LED to darken, reducing light output.
Basically, turn down, or off, the backlight, and it will last.
I left my G1000 on for about 2 years straight as I used it as my car GPS and for some reason it would never turn all the way off. Something kept making it wake up but it would only stay dim until I turned the GPS feature on and then the screen would be bright as can be.
