Its very hard to read, but i think its the same serial number.
Do they give individual serial numbers to each card or do they just get a batch number, like 500 have the same number or what not?
Right now i have about 90% of the card full, its benchmarking as fast as my 512mb card give or take 1-2%
I just ran pocket mechanic and the read and write test is fine.
hmm.
Now.. what to do?
The serial numbers should absolutely be different. The serials are unique for each model and card. If you goto the SanDisk website, and look at a shot of their 4GB product, it looks different. There is no arrow, and the Class 2 certification logo is in a different spot. As for your experience with the card, yes, it will most likely fail. A friend of mine bought a fake 2GB Ultra II CF card, and it worked for a while, formatted, etc. After a couple of weeks, he lost over 150 pictures as the device began to fail. So, if you can, please check that serial to see if it matches mine. It shouldn't.
mine jsut got here. my card reader doesnt read it but it did read a 2gb kingston card. how is nextweb dealing wit hte issue? are they offering refunds or are they fighting?
my phone does read the card however. but without a card reader whats the point activesync is too slow
I got SanDisk to take the card back for me, they even send give you a free UPS label to print out. All instincts tell me that the serials should all be different, afterall, this does constitute a "serial" number. I dropped it in a UPS drop box, and so hopefully in a few weeks, I'll have a REAL card. It just didn't smell quite right.
Received my Sandisk 4gb a few days ago (but I wasnt home to use it ). I first put the 512mb from the sandisk into my computer's built in reader and it basically freezes windows explorer until I take it out. Then put the 4gb and it reads fine. Perhaps it is just me but my music seems to be syncing faster with wmp than my 2gb mini did. Oh well. New release of Coreplayer... Off to try..
