If the Nextweb cards have been exonerated, I think there really needs to be some kind of note at the top of this thread clearly stating that.
The thread is so long that people could easily read through the dozens of suspicions, allegations and innuendos and not get to the part that vindicates Nextweb. That's really unfair to Nextweb and also a disservice to readers of this forum who are looking for a legitimate source for memory cards. IMO.
Well I just tried my 4GB SD card on my coworker's Mogul and whenever I delete files thru File Explorer, the files come back as well. I'll keep everyone posted.
OK I just bought a A-Data SDHC Class 6 reader and I still CANNOT format the SD card!
Windows is reporting 3.79GB capacity. I tried to do a quick and full format but windows will just say "unable to complete the format".
I can read and copy all my files from the card just fine. I can't add anymore files to my card now. The card is stuck at 2.05GB out of 3.7GB capacity.
I really would love to send back the card to Mike to check out but, I have too much personal information on there (Bank/Credit Card info, Address, Telephone, Pictures, etc).I can't risk getting that information into the wrong hands over a $60 dollar card (no offense to you Mike, just being extra careful these days).
I'm just wondering if the Mogul caused any damage to it since it's not truly rated for SDHC (although I haven't read any other reports about elsewhere of failures similar to mine).
EDIT1: I tried to use the encrypt feature of WM6 but its not working either. I can still read the SD card on another computer.
I tried all my tests on the 512MB card that came with the Mogul and everything seems to be fine. I'm might have to bite the bullet and try to get a 4GB card at a Sprint store and pray that that one doesn't get messed up.
i think its either a defective card or a fake. fake cards can slip in thru the cracks. mike does not make these cards, he just resells them.
if you can format it on your PC, go ahead and do that then install files form the PC to the card. dont put it in the phone. then, once you get a few files on there, delete from the PC and format from the PC.. basically keep the phone out of the loop...
I can't even format it on the computer. I would love to send the card back to Mike if I could.
I know Mike is just a reseller and I don't doubt that he's a good guy- He's been very responsive to my emails. I just wish my card worked and am just letting you guys know my findings.

Which is why I sent my card in to Sandisk and had them send me a new one - which works absolutely perfectly.
