well I just confirmed "some" of the info listed by pocket mechanic with Marc and the info for the nextweb are identical to VZW card. and have exhausted about all the way i can think of to check to see if there's any easy way to proof its a fake.
so for me personally I guess i'll wait to see if nextweb do anything to clear this up.
I just spent 10minutes cramming this card i just got from nextweb full of information just to test it. Sure enough, the header is NOT lying and this thing does infact take 4gb. If these are infact fake at this point, kudos to whoever figured out how to cram 4gb into a square centimeter and put sandisk's logo on it.
And I had no fitting trouble whatsoever. The card slid right in no prob.
I just received an email from Michael at NextWeb and he has offered me a full refund, and still believes they are legitimate cards. I am going to work with him to get this card sent to SanDisk for validation. I will report back what we find out.
Again, as most buyers can see, people that have compatible devices are NOT having trouble with these, ONLY Sandisk currently have the technology to make these cards, and as soon as there will be counterfit cards, ebay and Amazon will be flooded with them. Sandisk might not like Ebay or Amazon sales channel, and assumes cards are fake, so I have still offered at my expense for the person that runs this forum (Mike Collins) to send one in to Sandisk personally, not dela with some customer service rep over the phone that is clueless.
Also, anyone that is NOT satisfied, or does NOT think this is a authentic card, is more than happy to send it back to us for a full refund. These are AUTHENTIC cards, so I stand behind the cards, and I stand behind my customer service if you want to send it back for full refund.
Know that I'm just playing devils advocate here, I got a nextweb card myself and would be royally pissed if its fake, but I still have "reasonable doubt"
There's no pix to show what constitute a legit card.
FYI, After taking a look at the serial#s as well as the C2 logo on the nextweb card under a microsope at work, both appear to be laser etch.(laser etching require additional equipment, which typically are not seen on cheap fake ie small card relabel/hacked FAT to big card, but in this case if this is a fake we're dealing with, then it is a very high quality fake and don't tell us much.)
attached is a pix... best i can do with the crappy auto focus on the mogul's camera.
Hi
This is one of the points that I agree with, I have seen tons of fake cxards over the year, all JUNK, cheap crappy , copies, if these are fake cards, the technology to make them , and use features such as these are almost impossible for counterfitters to copy, come on, some of the fake cards manufacturers can barely spell , so again.
Anyone that does NOT think these are authentic cards, are welcome to send them back for a 100% refund, including s&h fees.
Thanks, yes, I am not a shady person trying to run or hide, and believe me, if they are fake, I will be more upset than all of you together, and since I have got all cards from 1 and the same supplier over the year, and with all our cards sold and they few issues we have had in the past, there were even a few times, when a card truly was defective, and the customer said it was a gift, and sent it to Sandisk for exchange, they received replacement, Sandisk would NEVER replace a fake card, and because of all sellers of fake cards on the internet, Sandisk does not have much faith in anyone but retailers it seems like to me.
Wow. Nextweb cards fake? I have not read this whole thread, but I have the 4gb sandisk from nextweb right now working fine. I have not filled it up yet, but as others have, I dont see why it is being called fake. The getting stuck issue is not because of the card. It is simply because microSD sucks. Its too d@mn small. My second 6800 arrived with the microsd already jammed in too far and was a pain to get out. The microSD slot on the 6800 just sucks.

Michael, Thanks for coming on to explain. I know that you must be incredibly frustrated with this, as are we. The sooner we can get it resolved, the better for everyone. I appreciate your dealing with us in a direct manner.
For everyone else... Michael and I will work out a plan tomorrow to get the card I received from him sent to SanDisk so that they can physically inspect it. If they are telling people legitimate cards are fake via their support channels, then that is a pretty big problem.
I have read thru all of the posts, so I can address some of the questions in this post
1) Yes, I was on vacation for 7 days, and did my best to take time out of my vacation to answer questions, sorry if some took time
2) there is no need to speculate on chargebacks, how to get money back, etc, If you are NOT satisfied, or dont feel comfortable, I will be happy to issue full refund, just contact me, and send card back, include all your personlal info, and we will refund your money, we dont take anyones monet, ever.
3)
If the owner of this site buys a Verizon Card, I am willing to even pay for it, he can analyze the cards, and run benchmark tests, or whatever technical info is needed, its the specs that are important, and that they are truly made by Sandisk factory.I also though maybe these came from the Sandisk factory, but in some odd way, just speculationg, not usre, as again I have used same supplier for years without issues.
4) If the Verizon card is taken photos of and called Sandisk saying it came from Ebay or Amazon for $60, they probably will deem it fake as well.
5) My overall point is that teher is no need for anyone to think they got ripped of, FULL REFUNDS are available if you have doubts.
I just had 1 more thought, again pure speculation, What if these cards were a "leak" from the Sandisk factory, and are made by Sandisk and not supposed to be sold to me???
Just a thought I had.
Also, for everyones information, I am on the same side here, if I was sold fake cards, I would be as upset as anyone, we invest a lot of time and money to receive authentic Sandisk A grade cards. And it has paid of so far with virtually NO problems.
Finally, if anyone know swedish, I would be more than happy to share some of my swedish feedbacks from Swedish sales, Almost 8,000 Retail cards sold in 2 years, 3800 or so positive feedbacks, and only 2 negative (both for lost cards in the mail). So I take great pride in customer satisfaction.
The 4GB technology was only announced to the public in Feb 2007 and supplies of the cards only started in March.
The time it takes to reverse engineer a silicon wafer is extensive and the cost phenomenal. You might find pirated 512Mb or 1GB as these have been around for a lot longer, but IF these are 4GB capacity and you can read and write 4GB to them then they are made from 'genuine' chips. No-one has pirated 4GB chips (yet).
HOWEVER
They could be chips that failed the SanDisk quality control system (unlikely) or made from stolen chips (more likely). There have been many instances of trucks carrying memory chips being hijacked and those chips find their way onto the market.
Whatever route they came via, they are almost certainly built from genuine SanDisk chips at this point in time.
I also had a thought, maybe I can send you some of the 1 GB MicroSd cards I have been selling, and regular Sandisk 2 GB SD cards, as we have got all these from same supplier to compare these as well, maybe someone on this post has purchased one of mine 1 GB MicroSD cards as well???

You are absolutely correct what you are saying, there are NO known 4 GB MicroSDHC counterfeit cards on the market. In 1 year the market will be flooded with them, and these were manufactured middle of March 2007. People in China that make fake goods dont even know how to spell Sandisk correctly, even less being able to take a brand new technology that Sandisk makes, and put it to the market the same time as Sandisk realeses there newest card.

As I tell a lot of people - NEVER underestimate the Chinese! One day they will dominate the World.
You have to understand the Chinese copyright laws which are stupid and which allow counterfitters to operate legally as long as they make (don't quote me on the number) 7 changes to the original design. This can include misspelling of the name. They do know how to spell it correctly - they choose not to so that they do not break their own laws.
A friend of mine worked for a sporting goods manufacturer and they visited a counterfitting factory in China to try and stop them - eventually they gave them a contract to make the genuine items. Their counterfeits were identical except for 7 small changes in the location of a pocket and some stiching. To you or me they looked identical.
We assume them to be 'stupid' because they make 'silly' mistakes - in reality they are extremely clever and one day will dominate the world. Mark my words!
Went the Verizon store today and picked up a 4GB card. It inserts nicely enough but when I push it to eject it, it gets stuck. I can force it out but it is not as smooth as the 2GB Kingston I had in it. BTW, it has the C2 logo.
