All, just spent some time doing the benchmark tests thru Pocket Mechanic for those of you who would like to know this info. these tests were performed from the card without formatting in the phone. once I took the tests i formatted the card in the phone thru Pocket Mechanic. it went from 3.78GB to 3.79 GB...
I think I gave you the incentive to go out and get that puppy! Thank you for being so prompt -- I like that in a mod.
So let me get this straight: The 4gb SDHC has no problems/issues/challenges being read, writing to or generally being used in the Sprint ppc-6800? The phone recognizes 3.79 GB and you can play media files through WMP, for example?
i dont use WMP, i use pocket player. i have loaded extra stuff on here and all is working well. im going to throw on a movie as well once i get one encoded to this format...

If only I heard about this two days ago. I thought the 4gig cards weren't available yet. 8 gig here we come (and nullifies the iPhone storage advantage).

Yea, either sell it with the 6700. Or save it for Nav, doesn't alot of the GPS software like iGuidance take up 1.3 Gb or something?
Just to chime in, Ive been using my 4gb since yesterday and have loaded it up, no problems, fast access. I got the 4gb Sandisk SDHC right from the Verizon store inside my Circuit City.
as spine doc stated, i called a local verizon store in my area and picked it up. id go a either a mall store or a huge B and M store. smaller stores may not carry them. i paid 100 bux for it. this particular store i went to had a few (behind lock and key) and i was the only one to purchase one thus far. they have had them in stores for about a month now.
spine, thx for the tip on the card. i had no idea these even existed until you spoke about it!
Oddly enough I found this today. $100 is too much but for $60 I'll bite. The 2 gig card I bought from Newegg does not work. I've tried it in my device and two other computers. So back to Newegg it goes.

That ebay auction is where I ordered mine early in the friday AM. Waiting for the arrival.
Can some one comment on what Microsd cards types are compatible with the ppc-6800. I was thinking about getting the SanDisk 4GB MicroSDHC Memory Card but wanted to see if there were any issues reported.
I has the 6700 and had intermittant issues with a Minisd II.
the 4 gb card is working fine. i threw two movies on it i encoded form psp manager and they played fine i was able to see the other stuff on there also.. songs, etc.. i have deleted and threw on new songs over the days and the card is holding up like any other card...
Marctronixx - how much total data have you loaded on the card? I heard (and even I'm not sure I heard or read this correctly) that they may not handle more than 2 GB worth of data. I haven't have the change to try and fill my card just yet, but an planning on doing it in the near future.
