6800 vs Eten x800

Since we already have a 6800 vs Imate thread, I thought I'd start another thread about a phone I'd rather have than the x800 although there are some advantages to each.

X800 - VGA - 640 x 480
6800 - QVGA -320x 240

x800 - 128 MB
6800 - 256 MB

x800 - no keyboard but thinner
6800 - keyboard a matter of preference so winner is relative

x800 - full GPS
6800 - agps - probably disabled

x800 - video front and back for video conferencing.
6800 - video back only

x800 - FM
6800 - no FM radio

I would gladly forgo the keyboard for anything that makes the phone thinner - I'd give up all video/camera, the FM as well if it made the unit smaller although I love having the LED as a flashlight.

i would rather have a keyboard and the 660x's screen over all of that. whats the point of using a PPC device if you cant see the screen or do rapid text entry.. if im trying to locate something on a street and need to get directions, id rather like to type it in rather than T9 it.... these thinner phones are annoying.... bring back my IBM SIMON!

Why can't you see the screen? you can adjust the font size. I set up the HTC Universal about 2 years ago and everything looked pretty much the same as far as how much space things took up.

Use voice command about 25% of the time, the touch screen 75% of the time and the space bar on the keyboard when I'm doing a firmware update that requires a hardkey boot.

Nice phone but no keyboard is a deal breaker for me.

yeah, i need the keyboard for texting and the occasional appointment entry or contact info look up, otherwise i use VC1.6 for just about all of my dialing.

an x800 with keyboard would be pretty titties, though!

I'm afraid you'll have to wait for the ETEN Glofiish M900 - no info on a release date for that - my guess (with absolutely nothing to back it up) - November.

Funny, my preference is the on screen keyboard. I find the slide out on the 6600 fairly useless as those little nubs are too small to hit quickly.

Slick looking phone, maybe it'll be on the cdma network sometime in 2009.

isnt life great? thats why they make different flavors of phones because theres different flavors of people out there.. :p

the screen is tiny. its much smaller than the 660x screen which i miss, even on the 6700. the font means nothing.. i need real estate. i want to get a sunburn from the large bright display on my face! you cant get that with this candy phone.. but hey its cute...

The screen size is about the same as the 6700 and the 6800. If you want real estate - you might want to look at one of those new HTC Advantage units with the detachable keyboard - slim without the keyboard but like a 5" screen or so. While it isn't for me - I do respect them trying something different than the same cookie cutter unit they've been making for the last 2 years with 20 different names.
