Maybe you can have them both on, but do they both WORK at the same time? The FCC filings on this phone supposedly indicated that the BT and Wifi radios share the same antenna. If that is correct, they couldn't possibly be active simultaneously.

Well, now we know that wifi takes priority over BT.... I guess that makes sense. Wonder if there is a setting to reverse the priority.

Good to know that at least you don't have to manually restart BT once wifi is done using the antenna.

Could you post the speed diff between the 6700 and the p4000? I have been waiting for a dual proc phone for ever. And to finally be able to use a today screen add on with out sacraficing speed and long painfull pauses.

Is telus going to give you users a free upgrade to wm6.0 and if so whats the time frame.

Thanks again for your time.

I'm thinking this is a good thing.....only one cable to plug/unplug from the phone for a quick and dirty car speakerphone/charging setup.

stupid question number two from me hehe...

does the 6800 stand up like the 6700 does? i absolutely loved the flat bottom surface to allow the device to stand up on my desk at work. stupid i know, but it's the little things that i absolutely adore about my 6700...

Yes, my thoughts too. At first I complained, but once I learned that the adapters were there, I realized it would actually make things easier.

How is the speakerphone? I was always under the impression that a phone and/or PDA's speakerphone would always suck simply by hardware limitations, ie: speaker size etc.

After having a Moto Q, and listening to that INCREDIBLE speakerphone I have grown quite spoiled. Any comparisions?

Great report Paragon. Thanks for the info and fielding questions from the masses. Can I ask you to test WM5torage with it (assuming you have a microsd card to test with)? Also, any chance you'd be willing to extract the extrom cabs and upload them? I can supply you a FTP site.

Really looking forward to this device.

Edit: Just in case you don't have it I am attaching wm5torage to my post. I am also attaching vjcandela (which allows for using the camera flash like a flashlight). If you wouldn't mind testing that as well I know I and others would appreciate it!

Finally, please benchmark! I'm very interested to see how the MSM7500 performs here--with its 400MHz/133MHz dual cores (the latter is dedicated to phone functions) and integrated ATI graphics chip.

SPB Benchmark is free for this use:

Again, thanks!

I mentioned this in a previous thread.. or maybe it was this one.. in any event, for those of you with a PPC-6600 or XV6600, be aware that the P4000/6800 is not the same form factor as the 6600. It is more akin to a smart-phone, size wise.

If screen real-estate is important, the 6800 may not be the correct choice for you.

Regards,
Gare_NY

Here is one thing that I am interested in. From what I know, Voice Command 1.6 is supposed to announce through BT headset on its own with 3.x roms. As we have seen, it is hit and miss with the custom roms for the 6700, but it works with the custom WM6 roms on the Wizard.

So, could you possibly install VC, if you have not already, and test to see if the caller announcement goes through to the BT headset on its own. Let me know if you need any help with this.

WM5Storage and VJCandela

VJCandella does not appear to work (at least I tried all 6 icons and none of them made the light come on). Hopefully it can be made to work...

WM5Storage: seems like it detects everything correctly, but when I try to open the removeable drive in Explorer it hangs for a bit then says the disk is not formatted... Cannot be formatted...

Disappointing results, avp. Like you said, hopefully the apps will be updated to work properly on this newer hardware. Thank you for testing.

Use Total Commander (http://www.ghisler.com/pocketpc.htm) and manually type in at the top \extended_rom

That should take you to it even though it is hidden. I'm sure it is locked so you won't be able to delete or modify anything in there, but you should be able to select everything in there (including the config.txt please) copy and paste onto your storage card.

Thanks!

Just an hopefully interest.
