Most importantly I'd like to hear the feedback in regards to this inconjunction with Windows Vista as I have Vista on both a notebook and my desktop.
I was never able to find a Vista driver file for my old 6600 and could only get it to work on XP...
I was able to briefly test a friend's Mogul with Vista today. I didn't set up a partnership, but Vista recognized it and I was able to install Voice Command 1.6 and test it out. Everything seemed fine. I'll know more when I get mine.

I am teathering through my Mogul right now as I post this. I'm on Windows XP SP2 using USB. All I had to do was go to the Internet Sharing application and select Sprint PCS as the Network Connection. It made me reboot the machine as it must've installed a driver, but once I got up it worked. I did notice it say a couple of times that I had an invalid username/password, but they may have just been a fluke.
As a test I am getting a steady 70KB/s downloading on EVDO with 3 bars.
I just installed PdaNet on my Mogul. It seems to work great, as with all the other Windows Mobile devices I've tried it on. I already own the software from previous devices, and it's so easy to use I just keep installing it. I think it's definitely worth the money.
Not sure. I believe so, but I don't have any PAM service and was able to teather..so perhaps they still don't mind that much?
It is dual NAI and thus PAM aware, like all of Sprint's new devices. You do not need a PAM plan to tether. Without a plan, tethering will be billed by the kilobyte. I'm not sure what the rate is currently, but last time I looked, it was $0.0015/KB (about $1.50/MB). People should be careful with their tethering usage, or they will be in for big surprises when their next bill comes.
EDIT: If you are on a PAM plan, the overage is $0.001/KB, and the maximum monthly charge is $70. Not sure if there's a cap if you're not on a plan, but some sources say it is still capped at $70.

As smeg36 mentioned, PdaNet will let you share your phone's network connection with a laptop, and does so without appearing to Sprint as a PAM connection.
I have connected the Mogul to my Vista laptop without any problems. I have synced via USB and it works fine. But, I have bluetooth on my laptop and have been unable to get the Mogul and laptop to talk via bluetooth. It keeps saying access denied even though I supply the same passcode to both devices. I would rather connect the two via bluetooth so I can put the cable away. I have not tried using Internet through the Mogul, I just want to be ablet o sync via bluetooth. Any ideas?

Any trick to getting PDANet to work with the 6800 and XP? I installed the software on phone and PC, they see each other and say are connected, but when I tell PDANet to "connect" so that I surf, it says "connecting to data network" then gives me an error message on the PC that the modem is busy. If I try it again, it gives me another error message on the PC that PDANet may be incompatible with my device. I've tried numerous resets, turning off firewall, etc, but just cannot get it to successfully negotiate a data session.
It's working, but as you pointed out has lots of problems. I can get it to connect if I reboot my phone while connected to the PC. But even that is iffy. And after I do get it to connect, I have to reboot the phone to get the internet working on it again. I'm using v. 1.73. Hopefully the next release will be more compatible.
I cant figure out what I am doing wrong. I tried PDANet and that did not work, but I guess others are having trouble as well.
Now I am trying through Sprint Internet Connection and it gives me this message:
Error Code: 67 Registration failure. Your PCS Vision username and/or password may be incoreect. Please try again.
Can anyone help???
On the 6700, I just left the username and password fields blank. But if you want your vision username and password, I think you can get that by logging into Sprint's website. From there, you should set your Vision (not account) username and password to something you can remember (I don't think you can actually retrieve the current Vision username/pwd, only just change it to whatever you want). I remember it took a few steps after logging into the website to find the options but its there if you are willing to spend a couple of minutes looking for them. I don't remember what the exact steps were but maybe someone else can post the details.
Just spent 3 hours fiddling around with the tethering (one hour of it was while on the phone with top tier tech support from Sprint) and the conclusion the guy came up with as to why it was not working on my phone was that I did not have the data plan. I dont believe him, I just think he didnt know any better since these things just came out. Its late and I am tired so I am giving up for the night...
But I never anticipatd these many problems in tethering the 6800. Anyone know any 3rd party apps other than PDANet for tethering? Also, can someone please explain how they got the internet sharing to work through the Sprint Internet Sharing wizard. Has anyone successfully done this that DOES NOT have the $40/month data plan?
Here is a curveball.. has anyone been able to setup a tethered 6800 as a modem on COM4 (USB Port) and been able to dial remotely into a system using HyperTerminal? That would be really useful for me if it were possible
