Not to mention the Mogul looks much better than the spy shots of the xv6800.
For all the other VZW people... The CSRs around here know nothing about the xv6800 and the lady I talked to at corporate said it was not listed on her coming soon sheet which they usually get 2wks ahead of launch.
Good luck to all... I'll let you know if I jump ship.
- Cheers
1. I personally think the XV6800 looks better, not to mention that every review of the Mogul thus far has complained about the D-pad, which is different on Verizon's version.
2. The CSRs never know anything about what's going on. Their job is to read scripts, not to stay in the know. The last time I checked, July 18th was more than 14 days away, so the "lady at corporate" probably wouldn't see anything on her sheet.
3. Definitely let us know if you jump ship less than 30 days from the proposed launch...I'm on the edge of my seat.

It's pretty safe to make that assumption. Let's just hope that the July 18th date we've been hearing is the full retail date.
I called UTSTARCOM last week and their CSR told me they have the device. She didnt know when it would be released to the public, but she said they had the XV6800 and that it was already released to Verizon. I think we are closer, but dont know how much???
This really sucks, cause my 6600 lost both screws on the slider. I cant stop complaining....
I found a source that claims to have an "official" document (which is a link) stating july 18th for the release of the 6800. The document, while not entirely clear, does show a date of 7/18/07, but the date of the post is the 10th of june. Right above that post is another one claiming that 7/14/07 is the actual release and this was written a day later, so i don't know. So, while I wouldn't call this evidence credible, I will say that it is yet another source to show the 18th as the release date.
Yeah, that looks right, all the terminology is there. Now, if someone happens to have an updated device matrix which usually comes out on Wednesdays..... I could read more into that document.
BTW, don't let the CSR's bull**** you on not knowing, they either don't know where to look or are just stone walling you. We knew when PTT was coming out weeks in advance.

BTW: any (ex)verizon people want to comment on whether that screen shot is an actual verizon document or just a fake?
Thanks for the link, that has been posted here before (probably 15 or so pages back now). Not sure if its official or not but its odd that the BB 8300 says B2B/Inernet/Telesales and the rest of them dont, does that mean the "7/18/07" date is retail?

Your guess is as good as mine.
ex-VZWTech, I'll call CS today and try and weasle some info out. All I really need is for them to tell me a date, then, whether it's accurate or not, I can hold verizon to it and therefore get a phone today and not worry about the 30 days (I'm really in a bind not having a quality working phone PDA...)
At least our XV6800 will have MMS out of the box. Sprint released their 6700 with no MMS, and now it's the same with the 6800. It's like they rush these things out just to beat Verizon, but I'd personally rather have a fully functional device arrive at my doorstep.
Good luck with that. The only CONCRETE info you will ever get is when they release the device, until then, it's all rumor. Assuming you're not a biz customer, I would feel somewhat comfortable ordering the 6700 when the 6800 is released b2b, but at that point you're only about 14 days away.
Wow.. Sounds like animosity there.. Good thing MMS is working now on the 6800, and we have Sprint SERO... lol
Oh, I only stick to this thread, i don't want to know about anything unless its the VZW release date.
BTW, if anyone knows anyone in the stores, have them try a to bill out a FRU sku for the XV6800, if its in there that means allocation has already started, that is a good thing.
Talked with Verizon national sales yesterday and he said that it would be released by mid July. They already have one to play with (of course) and it's a really sweet device. They have most of the bugs worked out and are working on 1 or 2 little quirky issues.
Good! Work out those "quirky" issues before I get mine! I guess I can wait for a "bug-free" phone....
(as if I had a choice anyway...)

Just curious if they said anything about whether the mid-July date was a full launch, or was just the initial b2b launch. I'm truly hoping the 7/18 date is full retail, which should mean I'll have my XV6800 in a week or two through b2b channels.
I dialed 611 today, and just talked with a CSR about the impending release of a follow-up to the 6700. Obviously she knew nothing (after putting me on hold for a good 3 minutes while she was "checking"), but I like to keep them on their toes and call 2 or 3 times a week.
I was on the phone with a Verizon rep this morning for a pix msg issue (I have a Audiovox 9155, duh I can't get pix) and I mentioned unless he could get me a 6800 I'd continue to have an issue. He laughed and mentioned they had trained on two versions of the 6800 about 3 months ago. He said one was WM6 with Vista/server support and the other wasn't (guessing WM5). When I mentioned the screenshot of projected release dates he avoided denying it but at the same time he reminded me several times that everything is estimates untill release.
Soo..... take it for what its worth. But some support has trained on them before.

I don't know why they have to keep us in the complete dark about the release date. They must be having problems they are not sure how long it will take to solve. I mean, we all know they have it....just let us know when we can get so I can stop checking the usual suspects for release dates.
I think the guessing is probably the worst part. Give us a concrete date and they'll save a buncha money in us calling them wasting their time and ours trying to figure it out.

No pun intended I'm sure ;p
That reminded me. He said something about how I wouldn't want a phone that would end up dead on me. I told him I'd rather have one that ended up dead as long as the hardware wasn't dead. I would have no problem reinstalling the device, I work with computer stuff all the time. He told me I was the first one to say that. I told him those of us that can/would, he doesn't hear from.

Honestly, that's probably not the case. More likely scenario is that they're all sitting in a warehouse somewhere just waiting for the release date. If they're working on bugs at this point, then it might be a little difficult to fix bugs on however many units they have on hand.
Why would they tell us at this point, when we're all drawing our own conclusions anyway? Seriously, do you really think them telling us a release date flat out would change anything? If Verizon put billboards in every city in America saying that the XV6800 was being released on July 18th, three things would happen:
1. We would still call them to see if the release is still on track for that date.
2. One of the billboards would start peeling a little bit, and then all of the sudden the forums would light up with rumors about how Verizon is taking down there billboards because of a delay.
3. We would all be going back and forth about how long it's taking to get this thing out, especially since Sprint released theirs on Monday...oh wait, that is what we're doing, and we would still be doing it if Verizon told us everything we wanted to hear.
They never want to tell you the exact date the new phone is released because people will stop buying old models in anticipation of new ones. They've got to move old models. Speaking of which, is it worth to get a refurb 6700 these days or it is better to bite the bullet and pay 3 times more for a 6800?
