what does one have to do to order from brighthand? is this a sprint employee or reseller thing?
Brighthand is a forum website similar to PDAPhoneHome. I think you are talking about Brightpoint, which is a tier 1 wireless wholesaler that sells to wireless retail organizations. They supply handsets, accessories, etc. I have an account with them but I've not used it in a while and so my online account is suspended. I will hopefully be able to get that taken care of later today, and so I'll check to see what the situation is there. The problem with handsets is that they typically cost more wholesale than they do retail, so there is no "advantage" in ordering them wholesale.
This is where I stand: From what he can tell after talking to Telesales no one has it in their system to order, it can only be done online. He processed the return kit orders for wife and me (we're both returning our Treos for Moguls). He notated on the accounts what was going to happen and he believes by tomorrow or Wednesday the Moguls will be in his order system. He'll call me and place the orders. He believes the credit for returning the Treos may be $579, not the $279 each we paid. If that happens, that's awesome, but we weren't trying for that much. If it's just $279, he'll apply $150 credits to our accounts to make up for paying retail for the Moguls. I got the guy's info, and I'm hoping he'll actually do what he promised unlike other reps I've spoken to, since he's in Executive Services and not regular Customer Care.
Well got through to someone who knew what she was doing. (so it seems) I got an RMA number for my replacement. I ordered the 6800 at full price, as she said I will be credited back the price of the treo after they recieve it.
Now I just have a feeling there will be a royal ****UP down the line. lol
I finally was able to place an order. She said that they typically ship out next day air but asked to "please allow 2-3 days to process your order". So, I should have it before the end of the week. (I hope)
I just got my Mogul for $424 shipped. After seeing that some people have ordered through SERO, I called them despite not seeing it on the website. I talked to someone who confirmed they have it for $399. She transferred me to the returns department who was able to place the order for me at the discounted price. I already have a return kit on the way from one of my previous calls, so he didn't need to send out a new one. I should have it in 2 - 3 days.
Im quite new here, been watching this thread a while.
I recently ordered mine from an indirect, all is going well.
Should receive it on Wednesday, though I probably wont be the first to receive it here.

Ughhhh I was charged $577.49 ($549.99 plus tax). They better refund my full price for that treo and not the $279 price I got with Sero.

Were you told you would get it for $399? I just checked my credit card and I was charged $423.99, just as I should have been. Maybe if I'm lucky they'll refund me $579 for the Treo, but I'm not counting on it. Not that I'd complain if it happened though.
for those of you that already have service and are not eligible for the rebates, what are you saying to get the 399 (or less) price?
thanks.
I think everyone that is getting it for the $399 price are those that are renewing their contract for another 2 years. That is the case for me. Others have gotten a cheaper price but they are on a corporate account or something. For us average joes, we either have the $150 credit for re-signing for 2 years or we don't.
so if you are currently in contract, you can't get it for a discount, even if you renew it for 2 years from today's date?
That is correct. Each year of your contract you "earn" a $75 credit towards a new phone. So, if you have been in contract for 1 year, you now have $75 towards any new phone you want to get. If you have been in a contract for 2 years, you have a $150 credit towards a new phone (max of $150). You can use it whenever you want or not use it. I think a lot of people have been waiting for the 6800 to cash in on their "earned" credits. That is what I was waiting for. Now, we'll see how good this little puppy is when it arrives.
