Agreed. That was awkward.
I almost vomitted when he cited the microsd as an improvement over the 6700. What a terrible reviewer.

sprint telesales sees it on their screen but its not in the system and the first person i called does not know when it will be. he did say it was supposed to be made available today... he had to ask someone else because he had never heard of the phone... typical.. have been calling these folks for years on launch day and they have always have never heard ofthe phone even though that day was the release day...

Well, I didn't get my call at 9am as I was supposed to, so I called the business sales line at about 9:15am EST. I told the CSR that I'd like to order a 6800... she said, that they were just rolled out this morning. I have 4 lines, the one I intend to use it on isn't eligible for a $150 rebate, so she told me that I wouldn't be able to order it through them... they can only do upgrades... and that I'd have to get it from a retail store. I mentioned that I didn't think they would be available in the retail stores and she said true, but they would be shortly. She then told me if I waited a week, my line would be eligible for a $75 credit and she could order it. What I did was just order it for one of my other lines that is eligible for $150 credit. She claimed it would kill my upgrade capability on both lines, but I don't see how that would be since I'm just activating it on the other line... I activate new phone on that line all the time. Total price was $399 after rebate, plus $17 activation and $12 shipping. Unfortunately she told me there was no way to expedite it. She said she'd send me an email later today, or tomorrow when the distibution center confirmed the order, and that it would probably ship tomorrow and I'd likely have it by Thursday or Friday. It seems that different people are having different experinces... but I was at least told that mine was ordered. I'll keep an eye on my credit card to see if it shows.

Just ordered mine. 288.99 plus tax, free shipping as well as a waived activation fee. Not a bad deal!

I considered doing this as well (since I have three lines with different upgrade eligibility dates) but it seemed like it may be too much of a hassle.

I called telesales first but since they couldn't help with the rebate issue they transferred me to retention. The first person I spoke with in retention said the phone was available on the website for order but they could not order it at that time (though he said it was possible that sometime today or within a half an hour they might have the capability). When I called back this morning, the second person I spoke with in retentions took a little more time to investigate the issue and told me that they would not be able to place an order for the 6800 until the 25th of June (which they also confirmed would be the time the stores would have them for order). I can only go with what they tell me. If anyone has additional info, please let me know.

Sounds like a plan. I'll try again before noon.

Sprint can be so useless....... It took me serveral transfers and 1 hang up before someone told me it can actually be bought online only since telesales didn't get it yet (i don't understand either). I try to buy it online but in order to upgrade it say I need a username and password (seems to be something different from the usual one). I only know one username and password and it doesn't work. I try to register and it ask me for the account number and I put it which (which I had in my hand mind you) and they say it's invalid. This is so ridicules.......

I'm having problems as well. I got a Treo on 5/21 with a new SERO plan and was told I could exchange it for anything and get new activation price within 30 days. Well suffice it to say it hasn't been easy as getting charged $399 for the 6800 and then returning my Treo. I've talked to Enterprise Telesales, Sales Support, Retention, etc. Either they can order it for me for $549, or it's not in their system at all. Right now I'm on hold with Executive Services, I've been on with this guy for 45 minutes. He's the first person that's actually making an effort to resolve this. I was promised no less than three times that I could do this, and today I was told I couldn't. This is why I hate Sprint...

at least sprint gives you some sort of information. and it's actually available to purchase.

verizon's response to me saying sprint had released the 6800 today was something along the lines of:

'we usually wait until the bugs and problems emerge and then apply the fix before our release.'

but i think that's because i had hit a nerve by saying sprint was faster then them and they weren't the best.

Last rep told me it was in but the system needed to be updated so I should call back tomorrow and order for it. I don't feel like waiting tomorrow so i might wait till the evening and try again. Still you would actually think new products like that should already be updated in their system so so both us and sprint wouldn't have to go through this BS.....
