It's not the Libra..it's the HTC Hermes aka HTC TyTN. The Libra is a smartphone not a Pocket PC. The HTC Hermes/TyTN will be the replacement for the 6700. I have talked to a guy who OWNS a sprint store and is privy to said info. Also, the EOL for the 6700 at Sprint is Oct.

I searched for a release date for the 6800 but couldn't find one. I'm very interested in seeing what it looks like. Do you happen to have a link that can direct me to a pic?

I don't know how true this is, but I'm gonna pass this on. I just got off the phone with the PPC-6700 techies and they told me that the 6700 will be retrofitted with a download that will make it compatable with Rev a. I, specifically, asked him about this because I'm almost positive Rev a is up im my market< but no way to take advantage of it. The connection cards are different, he says, and are not retrofitable. You have to buy the 720. I thought it was interesting to hear that the 6700 will convert. He says that we will see a noticwe on our phone that a software update was received. Has anyone else heard this?

Basic law of economics, if they can make more money selling you (see forcing you to get) a new device, why would they give you something for free, which in the end will cause much more administrative headaches.
Perhaps he is mistakenly reffering to the 6800. Rumors are that the 6800 will be released revA capable, but will require a software update to use it (again akin to the 6600).

This could all be true. Maybe the guy doesn't know what he's talking about. He is a tech and not sales. That is what cued me in that he was not rying not to lead me on. By the way, if there is anybody that doesn't have this "very cool" PPC-6700 tech support number, they really should. Tese folks know their stuff! Here is the number: (866) 818-1944 or (866) 585-8871. These are the folks with all the answers, so far, for me.
Regardless of how true this is about Rev a compatability, I will know as soon as the new ROM is available. I will install the ROM then compare speeds of tethering my wife's 920 with attachable power vision and then my 6700 with the new ROM. I just can't seem to find the new ROM, anywhere

They can release a Rev A capable phone now that will only access Rev 0 that can be software upgraded later to access the Rev A network, but it has to have a Rev A chipset in it.
I personally can't wait for the PPC-6800! I too have been holding onto my 6600 because I just feel the 6700 is a POS. As much as I want WM5 I won't accept a screen that tiny!
Do you think that the 6800 will have WM5SE? I heard that will be rolling out Q1 2007 followed by WM6 very late in 2007.
Sprint Turns EV-DO Rev A On... In One City
Sprint
Written by Christopher Price
Wednesday, 25 October 2006
Sprint today launched the first city with EV-DO Revision A. San Diego, CA is the first city in America to receive the new network. With upload speeds reaching 1.8 mbps, and downlink speeds spiking at 3.1 mbps, EV-DO Rev A promises to usher in new applications for EV-DO technology.
Specifically, Sprint has plans to tap EV-DO Rev A to deploy live Video Calling, as well as QChat, Sprint's future PTT platform which will be used to phase out Nextel Walkie Talkie (formerly Direct Connect).
Sprint has plans to launch in 15 other cities by the end of 2006, with the rest of the existing EV-DO footprint to be updated next year. Click Read More for a list of cities.
