I was told the unlimited plan was $45 a month by VZW support. There may be some business discounts that I don't know about.
thanks for your help i did order the phone with the data plan, I wound up getting the phone for $199 plus tax for a total of $212. I hope there is a $50 mail in rebate when I get the phone that'll bring my total to $162. I already have someone buying my old phone (Samsung I730) for $150. So my total upgrade should cost me $12!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well I was going to buy this online, because of the rumors of the online discount going away shortly after store release.
The problem ordering online was that it forced me in a couple options.. for example, I had to choose one of 3 text plans, and all 3 they offered is more than I currently pay for texting.
I tried ordering by the phone, and they said they could leave my text plan the same, however they could not match the internet 100 off.
So I stopped by the store, and they told me that even if the online discount still was in effect, that is for internet only, and they could not match it.
I will get it from the store most likely, however I dont like having to pay 100 dollars more
Anyone else run into these problems, or have a solution?
Well, my 6700 impression has been nothing but horrible. I am in need of a new phone (thank god warranty!) because mine is, well, having a butt load of problems and that's without any aftermarket programs. I talked to a few people at my store yesterday, and on Wednesday I'll be 99% likely to be getting an XV6800 free of charge! So, wish me luck tomorrow. i'll probably be at their store first thing when they open so I can get it before class!
I'm stoked!

NP, congrats on your order. Back in April I probably would have bought your I730 for $150.
Seems I'm the only one they couldn't find the $100 online discount for.

You should be able to do the order online and call customer support after you get everything and send in the rebate and tell them your not happy with the "new plan additions" and ask them to revert. Dial *611 to confirm but thats what they told me when I ordered with the unlimited data plan.

Man I'm so Excited just got confirmation my phone will be here tomorrow!!! After 11 months of waiting I can't stand it I'm so excited I gotta do a little happy dance:mikey: YEA BABY!!!
I just ordered my xv6800 today from the "my account" online method. On the final confirmation, there is a faint asterisks that references: an instant online discount has been has been applied to the phone and cannot be combined with mail-in rebate offers. Oh well!
by the by, the cheapest i could get the phone through corporate ordering was 350. i was expecting to pay about 150 with all of the discounts by retail. i guess paying approx 200 isn't too bad.
I've just picked mine up for FREE!!! My 6700 has been having problems, and the tech told me just to wait for a few weeks until they released the 6800. So I did, and man, this thing is nice.
But, WTF, I think they let a lefty design this, everything is backwards!!!

They must have fixed that. I ordered the first day they were available for $217 shipped. Recieved it on monday and I have the Mail in rebate in the box. My reciept says nothing about not being eligible; all the reciept says is that if I return the unit without the upc code I would be deducted the amount of the MIR. Looks like I am good. $50 i760 - $167 xv6800. Now I just have to decide which one I will keep for myself and which one my wife gets. (she prefers the look of the i760)
Ok, got mine.
Don't have time for a full review right now but here are my initial thoughts.
Fairly responsive, handles multiple programs well.
RDP works very well once installed (Verizon removed?).
Stylus is a piece of junk but we knew that.
I never worry about the microSD card falling out but be careful taking it out as I've gotten it stuck too far in before getting it to release (catches on the front lip).
It uses regular mini USB connections. I'm still using the USB connector from my 6yr old Sony camera.
Syncs up great (side note ActiveSync 4.5 is out at MS website).
The back plate is extremely flimsy but once put together it seems to do the job.
I have to say aesthetically and the feel I like better on the Mogul (the buttons I liked better).
The camera is of course sub par but does seem to have some good features (but I haven't had time to try them).
The slider once used to it is fairly sturdy and works well.
As far as it sliding and the buttons being for a lefty I find I hold my phone more with my left hand as I'm doing things. When I put it in my pocket I put it in screen to my leg and face down. This allows my left had perfect hold for turning it on with my middle finger as I am pulling it out of my pants pocket (left).
Please let me know any questions and I will try to respond to them.

I am right that you get a data plan discount right?
Because when I add the xv6800 to the cart and add a plan to it does not show the $100 discount for the data.
I had the same problem when trying to order online, I suppose because I had an existing unlimited data plan. So I ended up doing my order through telesales... Problem with that is I get the $50 mail in rebate instead of the $100 online discount.

I couldn't use telesales or online because of my plan setup but I ended up with the same thing. Support told me they were unable to find the online $100 discount.

I called my local store yesterday and they said they had the XV6800 in stock but the release date was not until this Friday (12/14). I thought that it was released in stores last week. Any ideas? I'm in Athens, GA.
They were in stock in the Verizon store in Carlsbad, CA (northern San Diego County) on Saturday Dec 15 - that's when and where I purchased mine.

I was just wondering if anyone is using a Bluetooth GPS receiver with their xv6800. If yes, which one are you using or which one would you recommend? Also do we know for sure if there is a built in GPS receiver in the phone already? and if there is, do we know if it will be enables for sure and when? Thanks for your help in advance.
