You can have it shipped overnight. I called 877-483-3010 and she fixed
it for FED-EX overnight.
too late...already received my shipment notification
no worries though...i've waited this long, i can wait a few more days.
plus, it shipped with fedex 2day service which should get here friday. fedex overnight rarely comes "overnight" for me. it also gives me some time to buy other goodies!

He actually processed the order as consumer for the phone so that I would get the discounts, and corporate for the mem card so that I would get 25% off on that.
The rep was nice enough to push the overnight shipping through as well and he even put an appointment on his calendar to check the order number in 2 hours to get the tracking number and email it to me.
Just ordered mine online. Be warned though--what the fine print don't tell you is that the tax is based on FULL RETAIL ($619!!!) adding more than $50 to that nice little 199 pricetag.
So what took so long, VZW? I think the next PDA phone I buy will be from a different provider thanks to VZ's new equipment policies.
LoL, sadly true.
Although with thier "Any Apps, Any Device" the next time around it may not matter.
Good luck with that. The new policy announcements state that all devices must be approved by VZW before being allowed on the network...now, what was it again that delayed the xv6800? And how much faster do you think approvals will be when there are many more potential devices, and no potential VZW revenue from the approvals?

Maybe (lol) Verizon is realizing they are loosing market because they are not keeping up on some devices (or money on research/testing). If they have the best network and if the phones don't matter. . . Then why would anyone go anywhere else? Just a thought.

I don't think they force the data plan but I think half of the rebates only apply if you have the data plan (IE either more for the phone or more for the service).

Isn't there a way around having to buy a data plan because I'm just a kid, i want the phone to listen to music stream video and other stuff without having to get a pda. I would just use the wifi in the phone instead of the data.

I think it depends on the tax laws in your state. I am in PA and I only paid tax on what I paid ($199.99 * 6% PA Sales Tax = $12.00), not the full retail price.
I get a big company discount. $369.99 not including any other discounts. I wonder if I can still get the $50 MIR, $100 NE2 and the $100 ADD discounts for a net price of $119.99?

Anyone try this yet?
I have a 25% corporate discount and the sales rep ran the two prices for me, the discount, or the consumer with rebates, he wasn't able to do both at the same time... consumer with rebates came out cheaper so he did it that way, but gave me the microSD card with the corp discount

The XV6800 is a PDA. Are going to spend $500 to stream video and
listen to music????

You don't need data to purchase the phone. However, you won't get the ADD $100.00 discount. You can use WiFi for the net.

Call and ask. I recently gave my mother my XV6700 to use as a PDA and phone. She didn't want a data plan so when we called Verizon to get the phone provisioned they set her up without a data plan. No problem.
You don't have to get a data plan. I don't know why people keep saying this. If you do get some lame rep (or website) telling you have to sign up for one, just call and cancel it afterwards.
Let me rephrase, yes you need a data plan if you want to use data. No you don't have to have a plan to own and use the phone and pda features. Yes you can get a pay as you go plan and never actually USE data but have access to it for a nice price that I recommend you never take advantage of else you will quickly see your bill go through the roof.

I specifically asked about this talking to telesales. First, when you order on the web there's only one choice of plan, and it's the unlimited data plan. The telesales person told me that when I go to activate the phone (should be tomorrow), I can change that to pay as you go. She offered to put a note in my account stating I didn't want the data plan, in case it didn't work during activation, but I figured I'd make sure the activation worked.
