i called the number from that guys invoice on howard forums. the lady was a little confused as to what i was talking about, but she did say that it should be available for purchase on the verizon wireless website tomorrow. she showed a price of $499.99 and does not know what the rebate will be yet. it could be $50 or $100.
the cool thing is i get -$100 for new every 2, and -$100 for unlimited data. essweeet!
i called the other number listed (i think it's for b2b). he told me the same thing, that the phone will not be available for consumer purchase until december 5th, but might be on the website tomorrow.
i'm not sure how everyone is getting one, but i've waited almost a year...i can probably wait another day/week.
Believe this or not!!!! It just happened to me and I'm skeptical.
I called *611 to see if the XV6800 was really going to be available tomorrow, and the CSR said she didn't have it in the system. She asked me to wait while she called the Data dept. and came back a minute later asking if I'd like to order one. I tried to nonchalantly say yes, and proceeded to ask what the price was: $569 for 1-yr, $499 for 2-yr and $100 off for NE2. I ususally only go with one year contracts, but the difference with the NE2 pays for the $175 cancellation if I feel like leaving. I agreed to the $399 price and asked when and how it would ship. Shipping 2-day air via FedEx tomorrow. "... and a total of $211.99 will be billed to your account". God Bless first day order confusion.
***EDIT*** By the way this was NOT a business account, plain old family share plan.
Anything done with telesales must be dealt with by telesales. The retail stores and the telesales/website are two completely different entities. Including for support. If you buy it over the phone or online the stores won't help you with anything (device related).
Just something to keep in mind.
Just a quick question about support when purchsing online, based on the above if I purchase through web or telesales I can not go to the local store for support or hardware problems, is this correct?
It would definantly influence purchasing on the 28th through the web or the 5th in person at the local store. thanks.
They are two different departments, they also ship from different warehouses. I've had to deal with this personally.

Not true, go in and ask them. I've had to deal with this. They will help you with your plan, not your device. I've had better luck with help with a device I've bought off ebay.

For some devices, when you go on the upgrade phone site (I see it when I log in to my acc't on the verizon web site), it says "May be eligible for advanced device credit" or something like that, then points you to Advance Credit Device Details
After calling the 800-899-4249 # listed on Howard, i got an order put thru!
$499
-50 MIR
-100 NE2
-100 ADD
$249 Total!
The woman said she could not put order thru til tomorrow, so we had to cancel it, or she could put me thru to Telesales to try and complete it. After waiting she came back and said telesales instructed her on how to push the order thru even tho its before release day. My new baby is gettin shipped tomorrow, should be here Thurs!
Good luck to all, and if u order tonight, don't let them tell you it cannot be done!
the 6800 is real afterall. was beginning to think it belonged in Imaginationland with Jesus and Morpheus!
It took me 4 tries to get someone who knew what was going on. The first guy told me I could pre-order it, but it wouldn't ship until Monday. The second lady I talked to, said she could order it, but I called a B2B #, and the only discount she could offer me would not be as good as my NE2 and the on-line discount, so she suggested I ordered it on line tomorrow. After 2 more tries, I finally got a lady who was able to help me. She didn't seem to know much, because she kept putting me on hold. She even asked me to "describe" the phone at one point. I was about to raise the "BS" flag, but she finally came back and said that it would not be available until tomorrow, but she was going to see if it let her order it. It did. Then, she gave me my NE2, and I asked her about the ADD, and she said that she wasn't able to do that. She put me on hold again, then came back and said she was going to try it, to see if it let her apply it....and it did. Then she mentioned that I had the $50 MIR coming with it also. So there you have it!! Ok...I know..."What number did you call!!" LOL I called 800-688-9290, which I think is telesales. But again, I was put on hold several times...for what, I have no idea. She couldn't send me a confirmatoine-mail, but she gave me an order # to reference my order. I tried to call back to check the order, but was on hold for about 16 minutes. The message kept saying; "Because of our NEW promotion, we are experiencing high call volumes. If you leave your name, and telephone number...blah, blah, blah..." . Some folks on other forums have asked for overnight shipping, and got it. My silly @ss didn't even think to ask for that. Anyway, good luck to all who try to get through tonight to get it!!!
I can't believe that it's finally here. I am getting ready to order it....but....I have a last minute question....
Does the BT work on this version of the 6800 unlike all the trouble that the Sprint Mogul is having? Please put my heart at ease.
Okay, I understand most of the acronyms having been a VZW customer for many years now. The only one I can't figure out is "ADD". Sorry for being a bit dense, it's been a rough couple of weeks for me and I'm jusy not very sharp right now. Thx in advance.
Your calling plan EXTRA CH $109.99 1350 ANYTIME MIN UNL N&W & IN $79.99 UNL PDA $30 2Y 0605
Monthly Access: $79.99
and the PDA SMS 2000 text plan that can confirm that upgrading online will not change either of those features even though it forces you to select a pay per message plan and $45 data plan when completing the purchase?

ADD is the Advanced Data Device discount.
If anyone orders this online that is eligable for their NE2 and the ADD, please let us know if it stacks the discounts with the online discount. This happened for the i760, but only during the first 16 hours it was for sale online.
In other words:
$499.99 > 2yr contract
-100.00 > online discount
-100.00 > NE2
-100.00 > ADD
$199.00 > Total
My NE2 doesn't come up for 2 more days... torture...
Also, I don't see the ADD discount, do I need to add a code for it? It only comes up with the online discount for me $399 total
About how much longer do you think i should wait before telling verizon there is a HUGE gash in my screen(it was there a long time ago...no joke) to get the xv6800 rather than a replacement xv6700( )? Or do i have to wait at all? Can i just call corporate office or something and request it?
Hey importmonkey,
Did you call to get this price, or did it ring-up with the stacked discounts online from your account?
Don't forget the $50 MIR
two of the discounts came up when i selected the phone for an upgrade. i'm pretty sure they were the internet deal and new every two. when i went further the add came up.
i didn't think i'd get the mir since i got it online and got the $100 off. i won't complain if i get it though!
