Thats not 100% true anymore.

i760 won't have Rev A capability and won't sync via usb.
Rev A is faster speeds on the internet. The extra memory makes
the windows mobile apps run smoother. The 6800 is a much
more powerful handset.
From what I can see, the difference between rev0 and reva is 2.4 to 3.1 megbits transfer rate? Can someone confirm that?

I wonder if the XV6800's IR port will be consumer grade? In other words, will it work as a remote control?

Not a deal breaker or anything since I'm not used to using my 6700 as a remote anyway. Just curious.

Also, I wonder if they'll have a holster for it from Verizon like they do for the 6700.

Guess we'll have to find out.

If I order a 6800 online, will the 30 day return policy still apply? If so, will I have to ship it back or can I just take it in to a local store if I am unhappy with it?

Doubt the IR port will be CIR - as (at least on the Mogul my friend has) the IR port is on the bottom of the unit. I really don't know why HTC still bothers with IR, to be honest

I've done that. The local store wouldn't accept the return, had to ship it back. The phone was shipped with a return label, so I think I just needed to call fedex and tell them to pick it up. The 30 day return did apply.

I thought Verizon had a 14 day return policy. Anyway, you DO have to ship it back. Use box/label supplied and drop it off at any Kinko or call FedEx. It's easy.

I use the IR on my XV6700 probably 3-4 days per week. I'm a Realtor, and at least 70% of MLS lockboxes nationwide use IR technology, which means I use my XV6700 to show houses. Kind of important in my situation, which is why the i760 wasn't an option for me.

On the download, that is correct.

The other benefits is increased speed on the uploads (near symmetric to the download)and support for QoS (quality of service tagging on the packets), which means the device could support voice over IP and similar packet based applications that are time sensitive. Implementing VoIP means you could do simultaneous voice and data transfers.

I've been anxiously anticipating the 6800 release, as I'm sure most of you have been. I think I stopped reading this post around page 60 or so as I got frustrated with the long wait. It sounds as though the release is closing in...I just had a few questions.

It's been a while, so is there another phone I should wait for?

How does it compare to newer phones like the Touch and Voyager?

Is the release ACTUALLY coming end of Nov07?

Any new info I should be aware of before I order one?

Anyone find ways of talking VZW down on the price?

Thanks!

P.S. I'm currently using the 6600 on VZW and using it for a phone among the following...

xmradio
movies
songs
gps (iguidance)
email and such
cable tv

I'm under the impression the 6800 will do all of this as well.
