I think you're mistaken. I have measured the screen on a 6700 and Mogul with a ruler, and they are the same size. Don't let the varying case sizes fool your eye.
Yeah, but that person was saying the screen on the 6800 is smaller than the 6600, which is very correct. You are right that the 6800 and 6700 have the same size screen though.

Uh, yeah - I have to work on my reading comprehension...
I'm going to miss the bigger screen on my 6601, to be sure. But I got to play around with a Mogul for a while, and even in MS Reader and Sudoku I was able to adapt to the smaller screen. And it's a lot nicer to actually use as a phone. Though the phone buttons seem to be less sensitive - definitely going to be dialing by voice when I get mine.

Why? They've already released it as the Mogul, it's Verizon that is delaying the release.
Just seems like a waste of time if they're going to release the XV6800 anytime soon. Not to mention the fact that you don't see Sprint or UTStarcom releasing the update for the PPC-6700.
I gave up even checking with Verizon about the release date for the XV6800. Different calls yeilded different answers. They )Verizon) says that they are working out all the bugs before release. Yeah right. Just like they did on the 6600 and the 6700? These phones were just as buggy as Sprints and Altels! We just got them MUCH later than the other carriers did to delay the piss offs with the buggy devices.
It will come out when it comes out. Probably just after everyone else releases the 6900!
Way to go Verizon!

Nov.16. The soft launch (BtoB/Online sales) set for Nov.2nd is not set in stone
as of last night . Could be finalized at any time now.(pccgeeks.com 10/2

The screen size on the 6700 is 2.8"
The screen size on the 6800 is 2.8"
That is the screen size you will find on most HTC pdas.
man i have been waiting for the 6800 for so long.. have had the sedio case and antiglare lenscover for a few months now...
well now that it is about to come out.. I find myself pulled towards the rumors of the F700.... man I will be upset if I get the 6800 and the f700 comes out a month later!
Most of the mags and blogs say they both will be out by Christmas.
The F700 is a multimedia (show phone) while the 6800 is productive,
business type PDA. They both look to be great phones--- just depends
on what your needs are. I am almost sure you will be able to start the
new year with one of them. Good Luck !!
Isn't that what I said? The point is still that the 6600 has a bigger screen than the 6800, which was the point of that guy's original post.
I'm pretty sure we can drop this now.
Hey , get a life. I was not arguing with anyone or taking sides with
anyone, I just posted the screen size. What an ego !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go buy a phone already.

Well, I wouldn't want it. Looks like it's not running any version of WM so say goodbye to all your apps. I'm sure many other features you've come to take for granted will be missing as well. Let's just say a lot of us won't be crying if a one-button phone with a closed OS comes out before the 6800--because that's already happened anyway.

Anyone have any feedback on the release of Alltel's PPC6800 in their area?
I purchased one here in Columbia, SC last Tuesday and it has turned out to be a terrific phone; a success over the 6700. I have owned the 6600 (verizon), still own my 6700 (verizon) but switched to Alltel and got the 6800.
