Phone Broken. IE opening constantly/buttons deactivated.

Ok, i have the Verizon XV6800. I have had a lot of problems with this phone, ive had to reset it once and send it back in for a replacement once. This time it is getting a bit out of hand.

The first thing that happened was the Internet Explorer opened every time i would bring the phone out of standby, or about every 30 seconds. I dont pay for internet, so i need to rush to close it so my phone bill does not sky rocket. But along with that all my buttons but the select button (middle button) stopped working. And the select button only opens the windows menu. So without any buttons and only using the touch screen i have been playing with the settings. Every time i change a setting to turn the internet capability off, it just resets when IE pops up again. Also i tried turning the buttons back off, and they still did not work.

I called tech support and they couldnt do a damn thing. So we thought a hard reset would fix it... but it did not. It continues opening IE and the buttons are still off. This is really a pain.

This all happened in the first few days of college and is becoming a serious issue for me. Any tips to fix my phone? Right now i am just leaving the battery out and waiting for a replacement to be sent to me. But any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Nick

sounds like poor QC on verizons insurance division. either you have dirt/debris under the keypad or its physically damaged. sounds like a replacement is indeed needed and short of a hard reset sounds like not much you can do...

Its not a hardware problem, its the software that keeps opening the IE and locking the buttons. All of them worked a second before, and then randomly it started doing this. Hard reset didn't fix anything. I wish there was a way to fix or delete the problem so i dont have to send it in.

well if your getting a replacement, then what is the issue? if its a software issue, a hard reset will more than likely fix it. especially if its a program YOU installed or an unofficial ROM.. but if its stock ROM and no user installed software and you are having these issues, then its most likely a phone issue and a replacement is needed...
