My gently used XV6800 arrived today. The internet explorer light stays on even when turned fully off. Even when I pull the battery and start over. Did I get a broken phone? Will a hard reset help? If I hard reset will I lose updates made to the phone? Thanks

What "internet explorer" light. The white light on the button? That is a problem.
Or do you mean that the green light blinks occasionally. That is normal.

A hard reset will clear all add on software, settings, contacts etc. I don't know what "updates" you mean, but typically, you want to start a new phone with a hard reset.
