hard to explain, here are some details...

I have the data connection plan... with Verizon.
I have an XV-6800
windows mobile 6.1
CE OS 5.2.19199 Build 19199.1.0.0 dcd

I am able to check my outlook email via my phone no problem.
I am able to update and download podcasts using BeyondPod.

But internet is so very sporadic.

It has nothing to do with my signal strength, or location.

I can do a soft reset, at which point I am able to get to a website for a little bit of time, but it eventually bottoms out again.

Anytime I try to hit a website, the bottom of IE just says "Connecting" and then immediately, "Locating..." In fact, as I wait for the site to come up, as it just says "Locating..." I can open up messaging and get new work emails, open them up, read them, and reply...

The little arrows that indicate that data is being passed to and fro just go off whilst IE continues to say "Locating..."

Eventually, IE says "The page cannot be displayed or downloaded because the connection was lost. Check the connection and try again later."

I have redone all of the connection settings, then did a soft reset with no luck. Verizon suggests a hard reset... no thanks...

editted the DNS settings to be 4.2.2.1 and one from Open DNS, seems to be okay, but as a side question, where can I go on my phone to test my data connection speed?

And as a side-side note, I think this issue started when I tried to do tethering on my phone... when I tethered successfully, it didnt dial #777 but something like #542 or something like that...
