XV6800 slowing WAY down.....

Ok I just bought the XV6800 about a week ago......For the last few days I noticed it's been slowing way down lately.... I tend to have to txt a ton (200msgs a day or so) because my employees use it as their way of giving me updates. Sometimes I have to wait up to 5 seconds or so for it to "catch up" to my typing.... I know this is an older phone but it was a good 10X faster when I first bought it

I tried to do a soft reset and that didn't seem to help any....... I have no other apps running in the background besides the messaging. I'm using WM 6.1 and updated it almost immediately after getting it so not sure if that could be causing it or not....

Don't quite understand..... Turn off word? I deleted the inbox/outbox and it did improve performance a little but it still seems slow. Also last night while txting a co-worker it wouldn't show me what I sent recieved....It would make the sounds but I couldn't see it on the screen. Is there some kind of limit on how many messages can be threaded? I deleted it all and then it worked fine.....but was pretty annoying.

your problem is your pim.vol file. those txt messages eat up a LOT of memory. look at your task manager app and see your running RAM usage.

delete the sent and deleted text messages and your phones response should improve. also if you have email setup delete the sent/deleted folders, open up IE, and delete the cache, cookies and history info....

Send a message via AIM to s10blazed

I was having the same text lagging problem before. I would type a whole sentence worth or words and watch as they magically appeared after I was finished... minus a few letters here and there or course. I turned off word suggest as mentioned above and it has been working great ever since.
