I have had the XV6800 since it first came out (about two years).
Just the other day my Seidio extended batter started draining in one night after being fully charged at work. It used to last me two full days on a full charge.
I thought it was the battery going South but I had a spare XV6800 (I am the IT Manager at my company) that I put the Seidio battery in and it lasted two days with about 60% of the battery remaining (granted it wasn't used much - but then again mine is draining at night with no usage too).
I put a regular battery into my device and, again, it did not last til morning.
I also double checked that Wi-Fi is not on and turned off GPS.
My conclusion is that this is a hardware issue with the phone.
What I would like to know is if anyone else has had this happen to them and if so was there a fix?
I too have an old phone and thought it was the phone but bought a new cheepo battery and the problem went away. If you have two old batteries they may get old together.
I recently had the lights on my 10 year old car replaced... both went out within a month of each other. Garage says always replace both at once....
yeas its not a physical issue with the phone, those batteries are probably gone. i can not remember hearing or reading about anyone's phone having a physical issue relating to killing the battery. if you are in a fringe service area that will kill a weak battery really fast AND/OR roaming.. if you want to hang on to the phone just get a seidio extended battery and your set. OR take it into the store and USING YOUR insurance that you of coursed have on this device, just get a refurbed model thru your claim...
Install AcbPowerMeter and check the power drain.
On mine with the display backlight in the middle, the power is anywhere from about 100ma at idle to about 400ma if a backround task kicks in.
My battery suddenly has gotten where it doesn't last long. Again I used AcbPowerMeter and verified that the power consuption was about normal. So it IS the battery in my case.
Also, to run that big Siedio battery (is it a 3500?) dead, it is about 3.7 volts, or close to 13 watt hours. To drain that in one night would be less then 13 hours, or more then 1 watt per hour. Not a lot, but I would bet you could notice a little heat. Did you notice any heat, even a slight amount? If not, I vote for a bad battery.
I switched out phones and had the same issue so, as stated above, the issue likely is the battery. I ordered the Seidio extended battery one the day it started doing this and it should be here soon.
Hopefully that fixes things up and if not I will let people know.
