I haven't had the problem since switching to the Touch Pro, but it gets sats much more consistently than my hacked XV6900 did. My previous answer worked 100% on my XV6900. Prime the GPS with another app before starting Garmin and it won't change your time.

xv6800 running Garmin Mobile xt which works wonders with the built in GPS.
I do not, nor plan on getting, a data plan.
When I start up Garmin, it admittedly takes a while to find the orbiting thingies in the sky but when it does it runs smoothly and like a charm.
However, when I close Garmin Mobiel XT< I notice my clock/date is set back to Oct 18 7pm... which is about the same time and day I first ran the software on my phone.

Any thoughts? It'd be a pain to have to reset the time and re-dismiss all calander events that have occured since then each time i use it.
Thanks in advance.
I fixed mine!!!!

Just went into Start>Settings>Personal Tab>Phone>Time Zones Tab, and Un-Checked the "Auto change time zone and clock" box.

There is no problem for me because in my country (Costa Rica) we don't have time change due to change of season, it's always the same.

I don't know why MS put this option there. I think that the place it corresponds is in Time Settings or Regional Settings, but in Phone Options???

Still don't know why Garmin XT is the only one program that does this thing.

No more clock/date changes for me!!!

I hope this can solve the problem of many of you, since there isn't a reasonable solution yet.

This setting is for the phone to auto-update from teh telephone network. I very much doubt that it has anything to do with GarminXT changing your time. You may want to try it for a few days to verify.

I don't see what is unreasonable with the solution I provided. There are numerous other GPS programs that can be used just to prime the GPS before starting Garmin. BAF GPS Today plugin is my favorite, becuas eit is very simple and all it does is prime the GPS, but GPS Today, Google Maps, Bing, and GPSTest or any other GPS app can be used to do the same thing. Since you need to wait for the GPS to connect before you can do anything with Garmin anyway, it doesn't add any appreciable time to do this, and it works 100% at fixing the clock reset bug.
